The Metal Troll is an Emblem Heartless that appears in Kingdom Hearts III. It appears as the first boss in San Fransokyo.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
A Metal Troll attacks The Bridge in San Fransokyo, backed up by Tireblades and Pole Cannons. Big Hero 6 attempt to stop it, only to be beaten back. Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrive to help take out the Metal Troll and its lackeys.
Following the defeat of Catastrochorus, a new Metal Troll appears to replace it as the leader of the Heartless attacking the city.[?]
The Metal Troll resembles a mechanized version of the Rock Troll. It has a bronze color scheme with a round body, and the Heartless emblem is between its shoulder blades. Its face is at the center of its torso and surrounded by a cog, while its eyes are jagged and yellow. Its shoulders are massive and outset by yellow orbs at the top. Rivets with yellow X designs are littered on its body, mostly at its shoulders and leg joints. It wields an axe with its own Heartless emblem and orange blades.
Strategy[edit]
The Metal Troll is first found as a boss in San Fransokyo, flanked by Tireblades. It will start his attack by slamming his axe in the ground, creating a rocky shockwave. This will break Sora's guard if blocked, and can allow the use of Risk Dodge. The Blaster Blaze Attraction is useable during this fight and can make defeating it a lot easier. It can be defeated without its use, however. Its other three attacks are a brutal double axe slash (second slash triggers Risk Dodge), a rock spin which deals minimal damage and can be blocked, and a quick punch with his left arm that can be blocked.
Every 50 seconds, it can also change in or out of its armored mode, of which it has four attacks: it can spit large rocks which can deal heavy damage, slam into Sora to deal heavier damage, and its old left arm quick punch. Its slam triggers Risk Dodge, but it is better to simply dodge away from the charge.
Its attacks are telegraphed by its movements. If it walks around or roars for no reason, it won't attack. If it jumps backward, it will use its shockwave axe attack. If it turns around, it will use its double slash attack. If it plants its axe in the ground, it will use his rock spin attack. This troll has a lot of HP, but as long as Sora blocks all its attacks, heals himself and his allies if necessary, and makes good use of Team Attacks and Attractions, the boss should fall with ease.
