The Pot Spider is an Emblem Heartless found in Kingdom Hearts. Multiple Pot Spiders combine to become the Pot Centipede.

Design[edit]

The Pot Spider, much like its cousin the Barrel Spider, is fairly simple in design. It appears at first as a simple red lidded pot with two pink lines, one thin and straight and one thick and zig-zagging, running around the largest part of the pot. Upon being attacked, four spider-like clawed legs, colored a greenish-black, burst from the pot's midsection at the thicker line, enabling the pot to charge forward and retaliate.

On first impressions, the Pot Spider appears to lack the standard Heartless bright yellow eyes. However, looking closely while in battle shows that they peep out from under the lid while attacking. While it is classed as an Emblem Heartless, there seems to be no presence of an Emblem anywhere on its body.

The Pot Spider gets its name from resembling a type of pot with typical spider-like legs protruding from holes in the sides.

Strategy[edit]

Pot Spiders sometimes wander aimlessly, and sometimes, they will try to run Sora and his party members over.

Pot Spiders can jump high into the air, rush to the ground and self-destruct. Experience is still gained when Pot Spiders self-destruct, but this attack can be devastating if Sora's defense is not sufficiently high. Otherwise, they are relatively easy to defeat. They only drop munny when defeated, so they are ideal enemies to defeat if one wishes to earn more munny in a relatively quick span of time.

If timed correctly, Sora can earn Tech Points for blocking the Pot Spider's attacks.[1][2][3][4]

Notes and references[edit]

  1. Before Kairi's rescue, 1 and 2 Tech Points can be earned for blocking a normal attack in both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, respectively.
  2. Before Kairi's rescue, 4 Tech Points can be earned for blocking the Pot Spider's jump attack in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.
  3. After Kairi's rescue, 6 and 45 Tech Points can be earned for blocking a normal attack in both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, respectively.
  4. After Kairi's rescue, 15 Tech Points can be earned for blocking the Pot Spider's jump attack in Kingdom Hearts.
