Fishin' Frenzy Classic Kingdom game

Fishin' Frenzy is a Classic Kingdom mini-game in Kingdom Hearts Union χ and Kingdom Hearts III. In this game, Sora and Mickey need to catch fish to earn points.

Game Help[edit]

Reel in as many fish as you can!

Use Circle and X to raise and lower your fishing hook. Once a fish bites, rapidly press Circle to reel it in.

Jumbo fish are closing in on you from the back of the screen. Use Left/Right to move the boat and get out of the way!

Be careful not to let the fishing line get caught on the wooden signs floating your way.

Mechanics[edit]

The objective of this mini-game is to catch fish. The "CONTROLLER" buttons can be used to move the boat left and right, and the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons can be used to raise and lower the fishing hook. Once a fish bites, the "UP" button needs to be pressed 10 times to raise the fish one level.

Giant fish appear from the top of the screen and approach the boat. If one hits the boat, Sora loses a life. Occassionally, a wooden sign will appear from the left side of the screen, and float to the right. If the sign hits the fishing line, Sora loses a life.

The score increases based on the depth of the fish caught. The shallowest give 10 points, followed by 20 points, 40 points, and finally 80 points for the deepest fish. Each stage has a target score. Once the score is reached, the stage is completed and the next stage starts, keeping the current score.

If Sora loses all lives, the game ends.

Origin[edit]

Fishin' Frenzy is based on the "Fishin' Around" Mickey Mouse short from 1931. In the short, Mickey and Pluto go fishing, past a sign that reads "NO FISHING". At some point, Pluto is chased by a giant fish. Later, Mickey catches a broken wooden sign.
