Mysteriously, Luxu disappears, leaving the Foretellers shocked and confused by his disappearance. Shortly thereafter, the Master of Masters requests to meet with Gula alone in the Foreteller's Chamber, with Gula finding his Master enthusiastically looking through the Book of Prophecies. Confused, Gula asks if the Master of Masters wants him to come back later. Denying this, the Master of Masters finally comes across what he'd been looking for and rips it out of the Book of Prophecies. When Gula questions what he's been given, he is simply told to read it - with Gula realizing that it's a page not in any of the copies of the Book of Prophecies given to the Foretellers. The Master of Masters then informs Gula that his role lies within the Lost Page, as it is up to him to discern who the traitor hidden among them is and stop them before it's too late. From this, Gula gathers that the Master of Masters had given each of his apprentices different roles because who ever diverts from their role could be identified as the traitor mentioned on the Lost Page. Though the Master of Masters is disappointed with the lack of impact such a revelation has on Gula, he confirms Gula's logic nonetheless. Afterwards, the Master of Masters directs Gula to act normal, stay focus, and trust no one but himself.
Shortly thereafter, the Master gives a copy of the Book of Prophecies to Gula and grants him leadership over the Leopardus Union as its Foreteller. As Gula and the other Foretellers read their copies of the Book of Prophecies, they are shocked by the final entry, which details an event known as the Keyblade War, during which light would expire and the world would reach its end.

Gula, alongside his fellow Foretellers, are soon introduced to a new creation of the Master of Masters's, the Chirithy, questioning the Master of Masters when he refers to the creature as a "Spirit". Though the Master of Master explains that the Chirithy are meant to aid Keyblade wielders in their endeavors, he warns that should a wielder fall to darkness, so too will their Chirithy, causing them to transform into a Nightmare. This inspires Aced to suggest that they destroy any Nightmare Chirithy they come across - to which Gula mocks Aced by explaining that he is suited to the bear mask that he wears because he's scary, opening the floor for the Master of Masters and Ava, much to Aced's dismay.
Sometime after Luxu mysteriously disappeared to fulfill his role assigned to him by the Master, the Master meets with Gula alone in the Foretellers' Chamber. The Master gives Gula the Lost Page from his copy of the Book of Prophecies and informs him that the Lost Page mentions a traitor among them, and it is Gula's role to discern who the traitor is and stop them. From this, Gula deduces that the Master had given each of his apprentices different roles because whoever diverts from their role could be identified as the traitor. Although disappointed with the lack of impact such a revelation has on Gula, the Master confirms Gula's logic nonetheless and directs him to trust no one but himself.

Without warning, the Master of Masters fades from the world - and although the Foretellers actively seek him out, they come up with nothing. Following the Master of Masters's teachings, Gula and the other Foretellers begin recruiting Keyblade wielders to each of their Unions; utilizing the powers of their copies of the Book of Prophecies, powers from the future in the form of Medals, to aid their wielders in collecting Lux in order to maintain the balance.

The Foretellers take notice of the Keyblade wielders utilizing Bangles that, when equipped, provide the power to collect dark energy, ultimately settling on the fact that their wielder's utilizing the Bangles was okay.
Over time, the Foretellers notice Keyblade wielders utilizing bangles that provides them the power to collect dark energy, though they decide that using the bangles was acceptable for their Union members. Subsequently, Ira summons the Foretellers for a meeting in the Foretellers' Chamber, declaring that there is a traitor among them after discovering a Nightmare Chirithy snooping around their home. Gula proposes to have each of the Foretellers summon their Spirits to prove their innocence, but Invi points out that it would be easy for any of them to summon a Chirithy that is not a Nightmare. Unable to find a viable solution to discern the traitor, Aced condemns Ira for spreading doubt amongst them and adjures the meeting, prompting Gula to depart from the Foretellers' Chamber.

Ira calls a meeting among the Foretellers in the Foreteller's Chamber, where he announces that there is a traitor among them. Shocked - Invi asks what proof Ira has to make such accusations, prompting Ira to reveal a Chirithy that he caught snooping around. As Ava notes the dark pattern of the Chirithy, Invi suggests that the Chirithy before them could be a Nightmare. Aced immediately denies that he is the traitor - prompting Gula to suggest an easy solution: have each of the Foretellers summon their Spirits. Even so, Invi tells Gula that it's not that easy, because of the amount of wielders under each Union, it would be easy for any of them to summon a Chirithy that isn't a Nightmare. Piping up, Ava questions why the Nightmare even necessarily has to belong to one of the Foretellers. Ira brushes this off as unlikely, reminding everyone of the Bangles - and while the Foretellers don't tend to concern themselves with the tools at their wielders' disposal, Ira is of the mind that the Bangles are the Nightmare's doing. When Ava questions this, Ira explains that utilizing the dark energy collected by the Bangles is the same as wielding the power of Darkness. Commending the plot, Gula elaborates that because all Chirithy look the same and Keyblade wielders are in such high quantity, it'd be impossible to discern who the Nightmare belongs to. As the Foretellers look to Ira for guidance, he suggests that only one of them could have obtained the Bangles, meaning that the traitor has to be one of the Foretellers. Questioning Ira's leadership as he spreads doubt, Aced storms off on his own, adjuring the meeting.

One night, Player is shown a dream by a Nightmare Chirithy, in which Gula meets with the Master of Masters in the Foreteller's Chamber alongside Aced, Ava, Invi and Ira - though Chirithy quickly puts a stop to this dream.
A few days later, Aced invites Ava and Gula to meet with him in a warehouse, where he voices his frustration against Ira's suspicions, and Gula agrees that Ira's claims had no merit since there is no evidence to support them. At Gula's behest, Aced reveals that he wants the three of them to form an alliance, despite the fact that alliances are forbidden. Gula inquires if Aced intends on joining forces to confront Ira, and Aced claims that he wishes to focus on fighting the approaching darkness while Ira is busy identifying the traitor. While Ava declines, Gula accepts Aced's offer for an alliance, but specifies that it is only between them, as he does not want to involve the members of the Leopardus Union. Gula then asks if Ira and Invi are aware of his plan, and Aced admits that he did not confide in Ira, but that he had asked Invi to join them. When Invi arrives, Gula watches as Aced and Invi argue and accuse the other being tainted by darkness. Afterwards, Gula parts ways with his fellow Foretellers.

A few days later, Aced asks Gula and Ava to meet with him, where he voices his frustration against Ira. When Aced asks his fellow Foretellers' opinions on what Ira had said, Gula admits that he doesn't believe it and that Ira's argument had no merit. Ultimately it was just as Invi had said, Ira was making assumptions because of the severity of the situation without any evidence to tie his claims to anyone, let alone tie them to one of the Foretellers. Ava suggests that there may be something Ira hasn't told them, which aggravates Aced further as he believes that as his comrades Ira should trust in them. Mentioning that he doesn't see the Foretellers as comrades, Gula grows impatient as asks what Aced brought him and Ava there to discuss. Coming clean, Aced reveals that he wants the three of them to form an alliance - however Ava reminds him that alliances are forbidden. Having expected this, Gula asks if Aced intends on joining forces in order to confront Ira. Aced admits that such a thing would be pointless - and while he knows that Darkness is at work, Ira is only concerned about identifying the traitor rather than fighting it; thus this is what Aced wants to do. Tempted, Gula agrees to join Aced's alliance, but specifies that it is only between them for the time being, as he doesn't want to involve the members of the Leopardus Union. Ava is shocked by Gula's decision and opts to follow the Master of Master's teaching instead. With this, Gula asks if Ira and Invi know about what Aced is planning. Aced admits that he couldn't tell Ira for obvious reasons, but that he had invited Invi to join them. With that, Invi arrives, and Aced extends his offer of alliance to her as well - however Invi sees this as a defiant act in pursuit of power, suggesting that Aced has been tainted by Darkness. Conversely, Aced suggests that it is Invi who's been tainted by Darkness, as she reports their actions back to Ira and could for all they know be conspiring with Ira behind their backs. With this, Gula parts ways with his fellow Foretellers.

A few months later, Invi persuades Gula to suspend his partnership with Aced. During one of their meetings, Gula explains to Aced that their alliance is meaningless since the alleged impending darkness has yet to come and Aced has not rallied anyone else to his cause. As Aced starts to object, Gula accidentally slips that Invi agrees with the dissolution of their alliance. Aced realizes that Invi convinced Gula to terminate their alliance, though Gula defends that it is his choice to follow through with it. Outraged, Aced reminds Gula that the traitor has not been discovered yet, though Gula cites this to be the motivation for his actions as he is unable to trust anyone else. Aced counters that Gula will not win against the darkness on his own, but an apologetic Gula remains firm in his decision and leaves.
Following the Dark Corridor Trials, Chirithy ventures to the Foreteller's Chamber to report to Gula. Gula is happy to hear that Player has made such progress, but Chirithy asks if it wasn't a little too early to send Player on such a mission. Gula laments that he has no choice but to hasten Player's training, as they must strengthen their resistance to Darkness as quickly as possible. When Chirithy asks why, Gula reports that the Darkness draws near, and that they will require as many warriors as they can get on the side of Light; which Chirithy shakily accepts.

A few months after forming an alliance with Aced, Gula dissolves the partnership, having joined Aced assuming that they were preparing to face some kind of impending Darkness - however it hasn't come. Furthermore, there haven't been any suspicious incidents of late and Aced hasn't rallied anyone else to his cause. When Aced starts to object, Gula states that their alliance is meaningless and that even Invi agrees. Immediately realizing what he'd said, Gula mentions that Aced wasn't supposed to hear that, as Aced fills with rage. Aced asks if Invi was the one who told Gula to dissolve their alliance, which Gula admits - though he was the one who decided to follow through with it, thus it was his decision. Outraged, Aced picks Gula up by his robes - reminding him that they don't even know who the traitor is yet; with Gula citing this to be the motivation for his actions. Removing Aced's hand, Gula explains that he can't trust anyone other than himself. Aced counters that Gula doesn't stand a chance against the Darkness on his own - but Gula in turn apologizes and firmly states that his mind is made up, before leaving.
A few months later, Gula secretly observes Aced and Invi's debacle, smiling as Invi gains the advantage. When Ava is lead by her Chirithy to the scene, Gula calls Ava and they join Invi, who has deemed Aced the traitor. Though Ava is hesitant, Gula summons his Keyblade and encourages Ava to do the same. Aced then launches himself into a vicious battle with his former comrades, from which he barely emerges alive.

More than a year after the Master of Master's disappeared, Gula watches as Aced attacks Invi; smiling as Invi gains the upperhand. Just then, Ava is lead by her Chirithy to the scene - where Gula sees an opportunity. Gula calls Ava over and together they join Invi - with Ava asking what's going on. Given Aced's actions and deliberate defiance of the Master of Master's orders, Invi identifies him as the traitor. Though Ava is hesitant, Gula also summons his Keyblade, encouraging Ava to do the same. Aced then dives into a ferocious battle against Gula, Ava and Invi, one which he barely escapes from with his life.

In the aftermath, Gula looks over the Lost Page in an alleyway and recalls of the role he was given by the Master, reminding himself to trust no one but himself. Gula locates Aced, finding him collapsed in one of the houses of Daybreak Town, and tells him about the incomplete nature of their copies of the Book of Prophecies and the contents of the Lost Page. Summoning his Keyblade, Gula reveals that the Master tasked him to find and stop the traitor, much to Aced's disbelief and rage. Unable to forgive Gula for silently standing by while the Foretellers fought each other, Aced cuts him down with his Keyblade. Before he can finish Gula off, Ava arrives and begs Aced to stop, who consents and leaves Ava to tend to Gula on her own.
Player eventually returns to the entrance to the Foreteller's Chamber after encountering another wielder named Skuld, who also has ties to Ephemer. Upon finally entering the Foreteller's Chamber, Player, Chirithy, and Skuld find nothing - disappointing Skuld - only to be caught in the act by Gula. Skuld apologizes, explaining that they're looking for someone. Angry, Gula voices his disappointment in Chirithy; as he knew that the Foreteller's Chamber was off-limits. Gula admits that he'd caught another wielder in the Foreteller's Chamber several days before, asking if he was a friend of the group's. Player confirms this, and Skuld asks if Gula had talked to Ephemer. Gula then confirms this, but explains that Ephemer's Union collects Lux for a reason that contradicts their own, and that Ephemer had only gotten close to them in order to get information; however he is no longer a threat. As the group realize that Gula had eliminated Ephemer, Gula asks what they intend to do - though Chirithy assures Gula that they will do nothing; taking full responsibility for everything. Stepping forward, Player tells Gula that the whole thing was his idea, and that he'd wanted to find Ephemer because, up until meeting him, Player had only ever done what was asked of him without question. Ephemer had left a lasting impression on Player - and even though he broke one of their promises, Player knew they were still friends. However, Gula had taken Ephemer away from him, and it stirred negative emotions within him - though he did not care if that meant they had Darkness in his heart, because he couldn't let Gula get away with what he'd done. Raising his Keyblade against Gula, Player couldn't care less about the consequences because in his heart he knew Ephemer would've done the same. Player and Master Gula battle each other ferociously – with Gula ultimately emerging victorious. As Player is cast to the ground, the façade of the Foreteller’s Chamber fades away and the group find themselves in the sewers yet again, where Ava reveals herself to have been disguised as gula the whole time in order to test Player and Skuld.

In the aftermath, Gula stands alone in an alleyway, looking over the Lost Page and thinking of the role he was given by the Master of Masters. Putting away the Lost Page, Gula reminds himself to trust no one but himself. From there, Gula ventures to locate Aced, finding him collapsed in one of the houses of Daybreak Town. Confronting Aced, Gula asks if Aced wants to know what his role is, revealing the incomplete nature of their copies of the Book of Prophecies and the contents of the Lost Page. Summoning his Keyblade, Gula points it at Aced and reveals that the Master of Masters told him to find and stop the traitor. Shocked and angry, Aced expresses his disbelief, recalling how he'd considered Gula his comrade and how that was a mistake. Aced tells Gula that it doesn't matter if he thinks that he's the traitor, because Gula knew all along that there was a traitor and silently stood by while the Foretellers fought each other; something which Aced is unwilling to forgive. Gula notes Aced's fatigued state and nervously tells him to give up already as he approaches. Summoning his Keyblade, Aced cuts Gula down - though before he can finish Gula off, Ava arrives and stands between them; begging Aced to stop. Doing as Ava says, Aced hobbles off on his own, leaving Ava to tend to Gula on her own.
Knowing that Ira is searching for him, Ava takes Gula into hiding, though Invi quickly discovers them and reports their location to Ira, leading him to confront Ava a few days later. Frightened by the possible consequences, Ava protects Gula from Ira, who calmly retreats after Ava asserts her resolve. When she returns to Gula's side, Gula informs her about the ambiguous contents of the Lost Page, which predicts an inevitable betrayal and "the one who bears the sigil", whom he assumed was Aced. Gula commends the distraught Ava for her scrupulous behavior, blaming himself for basing his actions on the Lost Page. Determined to find out what the Lost Page truly means, Gula intends to summon Kingdom Hearts to force the Master's return and pleads with Ava to help him with his plan. Although Ava declines, as summoning Kingdom Hearts is forbidden, Gula respects her decision and goes off on his own.

Ava takes Gula into hiding, knowing that Ira is searching for him; with the only one knowing of their location being Invi. However, Invi tells Ira Gula's location - prompting him to confront Ava a few days later. While Ava is tending to Gula, her Chirithy runs in to inform her that someone is coming. Ava leaves Gula in her Chirithy's care, while she goes to intercept the visitor. Worried that Ira intended to do something awful, Ava remains firm - which Ira accepts - turning and leaving calmly. Returning to Gula's side, Ava finds him stumbling as he tries to sit up. Gula asks if something had happened, with Ava informing him that Ira had come and that he'd wanted her to give him up. Gula mentions that he knew it would come to this, confusing Ava, though he explains that everyone wants to know about the Lost Page. Gula elaborates the contents of the lost page - revealing that it talks about an inevitable betrayal and "the one who bears the sigil" - though Gula himself doesn't know what to make of it. Gula admits that he's meant to find the traitor and that he'd suspected Aced, though his attempted confrontation went poorly. This causes Ava to ask why Gula is telling her all of this when she has enough to concern herself with given the Master of Master's training and her own role. Gula commends Ava for always walking the straight and narrow, calling himself a fool for basing his actions on the Lost Page. Determined to find out what the Lost Page means, Gula declares that he intends on summoning Kingdom Hearts - despite doing so being forbidden - in order to force the Master of Masters' return. Gula argues that if nothing changes the entire world is doomed, however he needs Lux in order to follow through with his plans; asking Ava to help him. Ava, however, turns him down - reasoning that summoning Kingdom Hearts is forbidden for a reason. Accepting this, Gula goes off on his own.
Sometime later, Gula is approached by Player, Chirithy, and Skuld to ask him about Ava, who has recently vanished. Gula deduces that they are members of Ava's Dandelions, and that they are trying to find Ava to avert the upcoming Keyblade War. Gula tells them that only the Master can stop it, who has disappeared, and the missing Luxu might be the one only to know of his whereabouts. When Gula remarks on the similarities to between Skuld and Ava, Skuld realizes that Ava is searching for Luxu to find the Master. Gula then recites a passage of the Lost Page to Player and co., explaining that the traitor described on it would be the one to bring an end to the world. Gula admits that, although they suspected someone, they were unable to stop them. Chirithy questions if Gula should be divulging the Lost Page to them, and while Gula affirms that he should not, he sees it meaningless to hide its contents now that the Keyblade War is near. Hearing the bells of the Clock Tower toll, Gula announces that the war has begun and advises Player and co. to leave, as each Union will rally their forces to prepare for the war.

Gula is later approached by Player, Chirithy and Skuld. Gula notes that the three of them are not collecting Lux and that the fact that they had sought him out meant that they were likely some of Ava's Dandelions. When Skuld confirms this, Gula asks if that meant that they were looking for Ava - who had gone missing recently. Yet again confirmed, Gula asks what they intend to do when they find her, whether they'll ask her to do something to change the current situation in regard to the upcoming battle - something which even Ava cannot do - or if they'll ask her to elaborate on the situation. Gula reminds Player, Skuld and Chirithy that they cannot change anything, even after knowing. Skuld argues that they can't just do nothing and wait for the world to end - as it is her duty as a Dandelion to try and keep as many comrades  from the battle as possible. Gula notes the similarities between Skuld and Ava, but reminds her that there's nothing they can do and that their only hope now is the Master of Masters. However, Gula reveals to Player, Skuld and Chirithy that the Master of Masters' disappeared, though if anyone knew where he was, it would be Luxu. Chirithy adds that Luxu had also disappeared sometime after the Master of Masters - making Skuld wonder if - while they couldn't find the Master of Masters - they'd ever found Luxu. Again, Gula notes that Skuld has a lot of similarities to Ava - tipping Skuld off to the fact that the reason Ava has been missing recently is because she's looking for Luxu in order to ask him the whereabouts of the Master of Masters.

Gula then proceeds to tell Player, Skuld and Chirithy some of the passage from the Lost Page, "The one unable to forgive this distastefulness, who thought of fate with pessimism and lost true strength... The one who will misread the truth and step into secrecy..." Skuld questions what the text on the Lost Page meant, with Gula explaining that the traitor would be the one to bring an end to the world. Gula admitted that, although they suspected someone, they weren't able to stop them. As the group mulls it over, Gula reveals that there is more, "And with that one swing, the bell that tells the end of the battle will sound... and the battle will finally begin at the destined time." Chirithy asks if it's all right for Gula to be telling them this, which Gula admits that it's not, however because the battle is unavoidable, it doesn't matter if they know as it is meaningless. Hearing the bells of the Clock Tower toll, Gula announces that it has begun. Gula advises Player, Skuld and Chirithy to leave, as each Union will likely rally their forces soon enough.

During the final confrontation in the Badlands, the Player encounters Gula after having fought either Aced or Invi or both, with Gula remembering them from their previous encounter. Gula notes that Player is already pretty beaten up and asks if they're okay. When Player confirms that they're fine, Gula asks if they can proceed to battle then, reminding Player that the Keyblade Graveyard is a battlefield. After the battle, Gula remarks on how tough Player is, stating that if he's going to have to put in a real effort to stop things from getting chaotic,  he'll pass - suggesting that perhaps the two of them may meet again somewhere before taking his leave by jumping into the air.

Kingdom Hearts III
One of the ancient Keyblade Masters. A coldly objective young man who dons a white robe and a leopard mask.

Gula is a Keyblade Master who appears in Kingdom Hearts χ. As a Foreteller, he leads the Leopardus Union and is an apprentice of the Master of Masters.

Story[edit]

Before Kingdom Hearts χ[edit]

Gula is given a Keyblade forged from his own heart by the Master of Masters, who takes Gula, Aced, Ava, Invi, Ira, and Luxu as his apprentices. Gula eventually achieves the rank of Keyblade Master alongside each of his fellow apprentices.[citation needed]

Gula and his fellow Foretellers are soon introduced to the Master's new creation, the Chirithy. Though the Spirit Chirithy are meant to aid Keyblade wielders in their endeavors, the Master warns them that if a wielder falls to darkness, so will their Chirithy, causing them to transform into a Nightmare. When Aced suggests that they destroy any Nightmare Chirithy they come across, Gula and Ava tease Aced for his frightening demeanor, much to Aced's embarrassment.

Without warning, the Master disappears from the world, and although the Foretellers actively seek him out, they are unable to locate him. Upholding the Master's teachings, Gula and the other Foretellers begin recruiting Keyblade wielders to each of their Unions, utilizing the powers of their copies of the Book of Prophecies in the form of Medals to aid their wielders in collecting Lux to maintain the balance of power. Quest 94: Where's Chirithy? Pt. 2

Kingdom Hearts χ[chi][edit]

Having watched Player defeat countless Heartless throughout Daybreak Town, Gula commends them on their abilities. Gula suggests that Player should fight alongside the other Leopardus Union members to defeat larger Heartless and then leaves them to defeat a Darkside. Once the Darkside is defeated, Gula reappears and warns Player that there are others who collect light for nefarious purposes. Gula allows Player to discern who walks the path of darkness before he departs. Quest 3: Combat 102

When Neoshadows appear in Daybreak Town, Player joins three other Keyblade wielders to stop the darkness from spreading by the new species of Heartless; however, Player is the only survivor. After Chirithy witnesses another of its kind fade, Gula appears to speak with Player, revealing that while the Keyblade wielders are gathering Lux at an amazing rate, the darkness is spreading even faster. Chirithy asks if that means that there really is a traitor among them, to which Gula states that he is not willing to believe that yet. Quest 250: Heartless Havoc: Fountain Square

One night, Player is shown a dream by Chirithy, in which Gula and the other Foretellers meet with the Master in the Foretellers' Chamber, though Nightmare Chirithy quickly puts a stop to this dream. Quest 351: A Job Never Done Pt. 1

After Player successfully completes the Dark Corridor Trials, Chirithy reports back to Gula, who is pleased to hear of their progress, but Chirithy questions the wisdom of assigning such a dangerous mission. Gula laments that he has no choice but to hasten Player's training, as he must strengthen their resistance to darkness as quickly as possible and obtain as many warriors as they can get on the side of light. Quest 500: Corridor of Darkness Pt. 10

When Player, Chirithy, and Skuld enter the Foretellers' Chamber in search of Ephemer, they are caught by Gula. Gula divulges he caught Ephemer in the Foretellers' Chamber several days before and that Ephemer's Union collects Lux for a reason conflicting with that of the Player's Union. He accuses Ephemer of having befriended the Player solely to acquire information, and states that he eliminated Ephemer for this suspicion. Although Chirithy assures Gula that will not retaliate against him, Player decides to avenge Ephemer, but Gula emerges as the victor. As Player is cast to the ground, the façade of the Foretellers' Chamber fades away and the group find themselves in the sewers with Ava, who explains that she disguised herself as Gula in order to test Player and Skuld. Quest 555: The Clock Tower Pt. 10

This information is based on alternate scenes or materials and is only considered in continuity if Player joins any Union that is not Leopardus.
During the final confrontation in the Badlands, Player encounters Gula after having fought either Aced or Invi, with Gula remembering them from their previous encounter. Gula shows concern for Player's weakened condition, but once Player confirms that they are fine, Gula engages them in battle. Afterwards, Gula praises their strength and states that the two of them may meet again in the future before he withdraws from the battlefield.
