Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts Dark Road[edit]
Hermod is a student training under Odin in Scala ad Caelum, alongside his fellow lower classmen Xehanort, Eraqus, Vor, Urd, Bragi, and Baldr. One day, Hermod and his classmates, excluding Baldr, are summoned to class, where Odin informs them that the upper classmen have gone missing, and asks them to search the other worlds for the missing students. Odin explains how to travel between worlds, and gives the lower classmen Keyblade Armor to protect them. The lower classmen split into groups for the search. After searching another world, the groups then head to Wonderland.

| Hermod, Xehanort, and Eraqus are informed by the Cheshire Cat that their friends have been locked up. The trio are soon accosted by Card Soldiers, but the Card Soldiers quickly leave to attend a trial, and the trio follow them in order to rescue their friends. After listening in, they decide to intervene. |
The darkness in the Queen of Heart's heart summons the Ferry Reaper, which the lower classmen fight off. After fighting it off, the lower classmen regroup, and speculate that darkness is responsible for the upper classmen's disappearance. The group decide to split up again, with half staying in Wonderland to search for more clues, and the other half leaving. Afterwards, the lower classmen once again reconvene at Scala ad Caelum, discussing potential leads and how the nature of darkness could help them find the upper classmen. Xehanort theorizes that they, as guardians of light, are casting the shadows that bring darkness. When Eraqus gets worked up at Xehanort’s suggestion, Hermod placates him. The lower classmen split into new groups and continue searching, with Hermod, Urd, and Bragi together.
When they next reconvene, Xehanort and Eraqus inform them that Vor left with Vidar, one of the missing upper classmen. Hermod tries to inform Odin of Vor's departure, but is unable to find him. The group debates whether to search for Vor, or to keep pursuing the upper classmen, leading Eraqus and Xehanort to argue, with Urd intervening. Ultimately, Urd, Xehanort, and Hermod decide to search for the upper classmen in new worlds, while Eraqus and Bragi leave to ask the Magic Mirror about Vor's location.
Hermod, Xehanort, and Urd arrive at Beast's Castle and meet the castle' residents, who explain that two visitors have stolen the Beast's rose, and the lower classmen, suspecting that the visitors are the missing upper classmen, offer to help find the rose. As they speak to the Beast, they are attacked by Heartless, and the Beast becomes enraged when he sees their Keyblades and chases them out.
As they continue to fight Heartless, Hermod and Xehanort become separated from Urd. Xehanort tells Hermod to check on the castle's residents, while he follows Urd. After Hermod, Xehanort, and Urd reunite, they return to the rose to the Beast. The group next heads to Agrabah to search for Eraqus and Bragi. While there, Hermod notices Urd is distracted, and she explains that she encountered Vala and Vali. They are interrupted by Jafar, who loudly worries about the lamp in the Cave of Wonders. Hermod offers their assistance, but Xehanort and Urd are suspicious. Eventually, Xehanort volunteers their help in order to search for more clues. Inside the Cave of Wonders, they spot Eraqus and chase after him. They reunite with Eraqus and Bragi, who had also been tricked by Jafar, and decide to stay and search for the lamp, as Urd suspects it could lead them to the upper classmen.
As they find the magic lamp, Vidar arrives with Vor to take the lamp. Vidar explains his plan to upset the world order by stealing the words' essential objects in order to find seven pure lights to counter true darkness. The lower classmen argue that this is wrong, and he ultimately decides to return the lamp, bidding Eraqus to use it instead, and leaves with Vor once again.
At Hermod's suggestion, the lower classmen return to Scala ad Caelum, and inform Odin of what they've learned. Hermod questions whether they should continue their mission. Odin explains that Vidar seeks Kingdom Hearts, and tells the lower classmen their mission is over. Alone, the lower classmen discuss how to proceed and their worry for Vor. Hermod is resigned as Odin told them not to continue. As they lament their lack of leads, Baldr returns and joins them. He explains that he had followed the upper classmen, and seen Hoder die, and suggests they go to the Underworld to talk to their spirits.
In Olympus Coliseum, Hades finds the group and offers to let them into the Underworld if they win the tournament. After the tournament, Hades warps the entire group to the Underworld, but separates them. Hermod and Urd end up together, and are eventually found by Xehanort and Eraqus. After Xehanort and Eraqus explain that they left Baldr and Bragi fighting Cerberus, Hermod and Urd go after them and plan to meet back up with Xehanort and Eraqus later. They are unable to find Bragi and Baldr, so Hermod decides to continue the search while Urd waits at the meeting place. Eventually, Hermod returns to the meeting place and finds Eraqus, Xehanort, and Urd attempting to fight Hades, and intervenes, reminding them about the world order. Hades taunts the lower classmen, prompting Hermod to join their side, but before they can start the fight, a dark portal appears and sucks the lower classmen inside.
Hermod and Urd end up together in a Corridor of Darkness, and put on their armor to stave off the oppressive darkness. However, as they wait for help, the darkness continues to weaken them. Finally, they see Baldr, but he instead attacks them with darkness, killing them both.
Design[edit]
Hermod is a tall young boy with pale skin, blue-grey eyes, and messy, slightly wavy dark blue-grey hair which is parted on the left and swept over the right side, and reaches his neck in the back. He wears a high-collared white shirt with criss-crossing orange straps forming an "X" over his chest, baggy black pants stuffed into tall gold-toed black boots with golden buttons running up the side, and an orange obi-sash with a white Terra's Mark pendant through yellow ribbon. Over this, he wears a loose, hooded olive robe with gold trim and inner lining and long, rectangular, gold-embroidered yellow lapels pinned back with orange cord tied into bows, with puffy black sleeves and orange-and-gold cuffs.
Hermod's Keyblade Armor is primarily dark grey and metallic green with white-gold details. The base is dark grey with pale green lines, with a metallic green chestpiece and flared wrist gauntlets, white-gold fingerless gloves, and slate-grey pieces at the end of his chestplate and bridging white-gold-encircled angular green stones at his hips, flaring out from which are dark grey sharp skirt-like pieces with metallic green trim. He also has ornate white-gold pauldrons with curved, pointed green stones set into them, white-gold kneepads, and white-gold and metallic green armored boots with sharp white-gold quarter-circles fanning out from either side of each boot. His helmet is grey with a metallic green front piece, umber visor, and white-gold chinguard and Terra's Mark emblem on the forehead, with jagged forked green prongs on either side.
In Norse mythology, Hermóðr is the messenger god and a son of Odin.
Personality[edit]
Hermod is a soft-spoken and gentle model student. He plays the role of big brother as he looks out for and takes care of everyone. Hermod is also trusting and a bit naive, being easily manipulated by Jafar into finding the lamp.
Abilities[edit]
Hermod, like his classmates, wields the Keyblade. In battle, he specializes in strength and focuses more on dealing strong attacks.
