Pence, along with Olette and Hayner are first seen running from a [[Demon Tide]] before they flee and Sora defeats it. Olette, Hayner, and Pence agree to help Sora look for Roxas. They first search around town before catching up with Sora in the old mansion. While Pence works on the computer with [[Ienzo]], Hayner and Olette go work their short job putting up special posters for uncle scrooge so they can save up money for the beach. Pence is absent from the Tram Common most the game as he works with Ienzo the permissions of the Twilight Town old mansion computer so Ienzo can extract Roxas' data memories, which [[Vexen]] would later use to make his vessel. Olette, Hayner, and Pence later find Ansem the Wise at the old mansion. When they see Ansem the Wise with [[Ansem, Seeker of Darkness]] and how he feels bad for what he did to Roxas, they knew he was a friend of Roxas and in trouble, so they devise a plan to save Ansem the Wise from Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. While Pence attempts to distract Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, and Hayner attempts to drop kick him before being saved by a group of [[Dusk|Dusks]], Olette flees to safety with Ansem the Wise. Ansem the Wise meets Hayner, Pence, and Olette for the first time despite creating digital versions of them. Ansem the Wise was their lead on Roxas after all when they then meet Vexen who says he too wishes to atone. Pence later becomes friends with the real Roxas in the ending and sits with Olette, Hayner, [[Lea]], [[Xion]], Roxas, and [[Isa]].
