The Poison Plant is a Heartless Boss exclusive to Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. Similar to the Creeper Plant, it appeared before Roxas in the Underground Concourse in Twilight Town. Xion aids Roxas in this battle, using Magic rather than a Keyblade. The Poison Plant is in the same family of Heartless as the Fire Plant, Creeper Plant, and Blizzard Plant. Poison Plant is fought on Days 23, 51, 76, 95, 151, and 353.

Strategy
At the start of the battle, the Poison Plant fires a ball of poison in your direction which can blind you or take away your jumping ability. Try jumping to dodge it, and then use Lock-On. You may then begin to hammer the stationary boss with the Keyblade. Use caution, as the boss soon begins to slam its head against the ground to deal damage. It is impervious to physical damage when it does this, so do not bother to attack it. It lasts for a few seconds, so use this advantage to get away and use magic or heal yourself. The slamming attack can be prevented with a combo finisher. The Fire Spell will also burn the Heartless Boss, dealing extra damage for a few seconds after the initial hit. Do not worry though, if you do not do this, as Xion often uses Fire Magic on her own.
Poison Plants can be a slight challenge to defeat when one is at a low level, but they become easier to eliminate as Roxas becomes stronger. They have the most HP out of any Heartless in their family, able to shoot flower-based projectiles at Roxas that can inflict the Blind status effect. This ability has slight homing capabilities and a relatively long range, but can be easily avoided with Glide or a chain of Dodge Rolls. Poison Plants only have one other technique in their arsenal, one that involves them slamming their head multiple times against the ground, which can deal the Shoe-glue status effect. While this attack has a short range and does not deal that much damage, it should be avoided through the use of Dodge Roll.

Bring as many healing items as possible into this battle, and remember to dodge.
Poison Plants are extremely vulnerable to the Fire spell and its variations. They also have a strong chance of being Burned when the Fire spell makes contact with them. While Thunder, Blizzard, and Aero magic can also be used against these Heartless, switch to aerial combos if Roxas runs out of Fire spells. Normal combos should be avoided, as the Heartless don't take damage when their bases are hit, and this usually leaves Roxas vulnerable to the head-slamming technique. Thus, it is highly recommended to bring several Ethers into a battle with a Poison Plant. This way, Roxas can deal heavy damage from a distance while avoiding almost all damage.

The Poison Plant is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

Design[edit]

The Poison Plant resembles a large flower, and is much larger than any of its relatives. Its base is black and is surrounded by four salmon pink leaves, while its stem is light green. Its hexagonal face is black with yellow border. Its mouth is jagged and its eyes are glowing yellow. Its face is decorated by four salmon pink flower petals with white edges. The Heartless emblem is emblazoned on the lower half of its body.

The Poison Plant's name clearly references its floral appearance, as well as the poison it fires.

Strategy[edit]
