Blizzard (ブリザド Burizado?), also called Ice ( Kōri?), is a recurring element that appear in the Kingdom Hearts series. It embodies the power of ice, and is generally opposed to Fire. The Blizzard element is usually associated with the Freeze status effect.

Party members

Several Blizzard-based abilities can be used in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. While under the effect of Blizzard Boost, Blizzard attacks deal 50% more damage.

Homing Blizzara Magic Sleight Cast a Blizzara spell that seeks out the targeted enemy.
Freeze Magic Sleight Freezes nearby enemies. Attacking a frozen enemy deals greater damage.
Splash Lv1 Summon Card Dumbo douses enemies over a set time period, dealing ice damage. Stock more than one to prolong the attack.

Only used during Sora's second battle, when Vexen has less than 40% of his HP remaining. Vexen elongates his shield with ice, then rapidly approaches and slashes his shield twice, before swinging his shield down and releasing cold air around it. All attacks can be avoided with Dodge Roll.

Only used against Riku, when Vexen has less than 40% of his HP remaining. Vexen envelops the entire arena in a blizzard that hits 5 times, then sends cold air around the area. The blizzard cannot be avoided, and although it deals minor damage, it greatly drains Riku's Dark Gauge while in Dark Mode.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, the Ice element has two sides. Party members can use Ice-type attacks to inflict Ice-type damage, which enemies can resist. Enemies can use Ice-type attacks to inflict the Freeze status effect, which party members can resist.

Unlike in other games, Ice Resistance does not reduce the damage from Ice-type attacks, but lowers the chance of being frozen. Vexen has an innate resistance to Ice, while some Ring Panels provide Ice Resistance when equipped.

Origin

Ice, also known as Cold and Blizzard, is a recurring element in the Final Fantasy series. It is one of the earliest elements introduced, and forms a trifecta with the elements of Fire and Lightning. It is the opposing element of Fire.
