Chapter 36: Traces of a Friend is the thirty-sixth chapter in the Kingdom Hearts II manga.
Story[edit]
Saïx reports back to the rest of Organization XIII, telling of his encounter with Sora, and how Roxas still hasn't awakened. In Twilight Town, Sora, Donald, and Goofy are about to depart again. When Hayner apologizes for not protecting Kairi, Sora tries to cheer him up, only to knock the Crystal Orbs from Seifer's Trophy in the process. When he sees Hayner holding one of the orbs, Sora gets a strange feeling inside, and he allows Hayner, Pence, and Olette to keep the orbs as keepsakes. After they leave, the shopkeeper that was attacked by Dusks before asks Hayner and the others if they have seen Sora, Donald, and Goofy, wanting to thank them with sea-salt ice cream. When Pence is confused about there being four ice cream bars, the shopkeeper responds that there were two boys.
In the Gummi Ship, Sora discovers that the Crystal Orb is the exact same as the one from the Munny Pouch King Mickey gave them. Axel and Kairi are walking through the Corridor of Darkness, where Axel asks for Kairi's help in getting his friend back.
