Chapter 28: The Castle in Crisis and the Mysterious Door

Chapter 28: The Castle in Crisis and the Mysterious Door is the twenty-eighth chapter in the Kingdom Hearts II manga.
Story[edit]
Minnie leads the others to the Cornerstone of Light, which is surrounded by thorns. Minnie claims the only one who would do anything bad is Pete, but that King Mickey banished him. Donald then informs Minnie that Pete is back, and is controlling the Heartless. As they question if Pete is the culprit, Maleficent appears, and explains that she is the source behind the thorns in order to take the castle for herself. She claims that the darkness has been planted long ago, and the only way to stop it is to destroy the castle completely, or go back in time. She then vanishes, and Sora, Donald, and Goofy promise to take care of the situation.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy return to Hollow Bastion to ask Merlin for help. He teleports them back and after some examining, conjures up a door. He explains the door leads to a special world, and their enemies are using a similar door. He tasks Sora with locking that other door with his Keyblade, and strictly warns them not to meddle in the affairs of the world.
After going through the door, Sora, Donald, and Goofy end up in a simple-looking world, where they find the Cornerstone of Light in the middle of a meadow. They hear a voice behind them, which belongs to Pete, and Sora, Donald, and Goofy immediately start to fight him. Pete claims not to know them, and keeps asking them about his boat, which leads Sora to believe they got the wrong person. At that moment, a steamboat goes by, and Pete tells Sora that he can make things right by getting his boat back. As Sora, Donald, and Goofy jump aboard the boat, they find the Pete they know at the wheel.
