Cure, Cura, and Curaga are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the "power of healing" and are associated with the Bright and Shining materials. Cure magic restores HP to the user, or to a party member.

In Kingdom Hearts III, Curaza appears as an even more powerful tier.

Visually, Cure magic invokes flowers or plants.

Story[edit]

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]

Mickey uses Cure on Ventus when the boy battles Vanitas for the first time.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories[edit]

Donald uses Curaga to heal Sora from Larxene's attacks in the 12F Exit Hall.[7]

Kingdom Hearts II[edit]

Aerith uses Curaga to heal Yuffie during the Battle of the 1000 Heartless.

Mechanics[edit]

Kingdom Hearts[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts, Cure is defensive magic that can be used by Sora and Donald. Cure restores a small amount of HP to one member of the party. The higher-tier Cura and Curaga restore increasingly larger amounts of HP. Cure magic costs 1 MP to use.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories[edit]

Cure (card).png

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Cure is a Magic Card that can be used by Sora.

The Donald Friend Card and its associated sleights can cast Cure magic when used.

The Cure card is required for the following sleights:

Kingdom Hearts II[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts II, Cure magic heals the user, and unlike in the first game, it can also heal nearby party members. Upgrading the spell increases the range of the healing field.

Due to the new formula, the amount of HP recovered depends on the user's Magic stat, so that it will heal more in comparison to the first game, but all of the user's remaining MP will be lost in the process, starting MP Charge.

In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Damage Control halves the power of the spell when equipped.[citation needed]

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Cure, Cura, and Curaga are magic panels. Their potency depends on their levels.

  • Cure KHD.png Cure heals a portion of the user's HP.
  • Cura KHD.png Cura continues to restore the user's HP over time, similar to Regen.
  • Curaga KHD.png Curaga creates an HP recovery field for the user and their allies.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Cure, Cura, and Curaga are magic commands that allow the user to restore a portion of their HP.

  • Cure is a Basic magic command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level of 3, and has a normal reload time of 30 seconds.
  • Cura is a Basic magic command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level of 3, and has a normal reload time of 30 seconds.
  • Curaga is an Advanced magic command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level of 4, and has a normal reload time of 30 seconds.

Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, Curaga is a default magic spell usable by Aqua and King Mickey. It restores the target's health when used, but at the cost of all of the user's remaining MP. On all difficulty modes except for Critical Mode, Aqua is briefly invulnerable when casting Curaga, akin to the Leaf Bracer ability.

Kingdom Hearts III[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts III, Cure magic behaves similarly to its Kingdom Hearts II counterpart.

Curaza is a Grand Magic Situation Command that heals everyone in the vicinity to maximum health.

Cura is an action ability that restores 170 HP of a single party member and 110 to teammates in range. It costs all MP to use.

Curaga is an action ability that restores the 210 of a single party member and 130 to teammates in range. It costs all MP to use.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Cure is exclusive to Co-Op Mode. It can be activated by Sora or Riku using certain Ability Crystals, and restores a certain amount of HP to the player's co-op partner. Generally, an equal number of Cure crystals appear for both players. This version of the spell uses the Curaga animation from Kingdom Hearts III.

Learning Cure[edit]

Kingdom Hearts[edit]

Sora and Donald learn Cure by obtaining the power of healing. Obtaining additional power advances Cure to Cura and Curaga.

Sora and Donald obtain the power of healing:
