Composition

"The Other Promise" is an arrangement of Roxas's character theme, "Roxas". It is an orchestral piece that portrays Roxas's somber and troubled life as a Nobody confused about his identity. A stronger, more mellow, and deeper version of "The Other Promise" appears in drammatica: The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura, while "The Other Promise" is also featured in the Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts.

Elements of "The Other Promise" appear in two new tracks in Kingdom Hearts III: "Roxas's Return" and "Hearts as One".
