"Enter the Darkness" is four minutes and 44 seconds in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, while "Enter the Darkness -KINGDOM HEARTS III Version-" is five minutes and 43 seconds.

The track incorporates elements from "Roxas", "Ventus", and "Sora", representing Vanitas's innate connection with those three wielders. In addition, "Unbreakable Chains", the final boss theme of Vanitas in Ventus's story, and "Dual Hearts", a cutscene track that accompanies Vanitas's return in Kingdom Hearts III, are both rearrangements of "Enter the Darkness".
