Bragi is a character in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.[1]

Bragi is one of Xehanort's and Eraqus's classmates and fellow Keyblade wielder. He is also secretly a vessel of the ancient Keyblade Master Luxu.

Story

Kingdom Hearts Dark Road

Bragi and his classmates in Scala ad Caelum are summoned by Master Odin to investigate the unexplained disappearance of upper classmen who were visiting other worlds in preparation for their Mark of Mastery Exam. This is an unusual task as lower class students are not typically allowed to travel between worlds.

When it comes time to set off, Bragi suggests letting Xehanort take the lead, since he comes from the outside world unlike his fellow students who had never left Scala ad Caelum.

The group explores Agrabah, Wonderland, Beast's Castle and other worlds eventually encountering the upper classmen and their own missing classmate, Baldr. They discover the upper classmen, led by Vidar, are attempting to steal key items from each world to upset the balance of the world's order, ultimately to summon Kingdom Hearts. They learn that Baldr's sister Hoder was killed protecting Baldr from Malificent. When the group visits Olympus Coliseum to venture to the underworld in order to talk to Hoder, they split up. Bragi accompanies Eraqus and Xehanort and the three encounter Cerberus. Baldr arrives to help, sending Xehanort and Eraqus ahead while he and Bragi fight off the 3-headed dog. The group discovers that 3 more upperclassemen, Heimdall , Helgi and Sigrun were also killed.

Hades later tells Xehanort and Eraqus that Baldr and Bragi were now permanent residents of the underworld, implying they had been killed. A flashback later shows Bragi being struck down.

Secret Ending: Bragi's True Form

In the secret ending, the post fight scene after the Cerberus battle was revisited and expanded. Bragi becomes suspicious of Baldr being possessed by a Willful Darkness, prompting Baldr to try to kill him. Bragi fights off a stunned Baldr, leaving him to question his identity. Baldr charges at Bragi once more and the screen cuts to black, reopening on Luxu in the cemetery. Luxu laments on not having found the chosen one yet, but remarks Xehanort could be useful. Luxu drops his hood, revealing Bragi to be the vessel he occupied in this time period. He states it will be hard to show his face when everyone thinks Bragi is dead, before walking away.

Design

Bragi is a young man with brown eyes and left side-parted reddish-brown hair. He wears loose black-colored pants and a black jacket resembling a Japanese martial arts gi, which he wears over a dark blue jacket lined with white fur on its hood. He also wears black sneakers with laces and white soles. At his waist, he wears two bronze-colored belts that cross, forming the Mark of Mastery, underlined in white and gold at the intersection.

His Keyblade armor is orange-red and adorned with fur at the shoulders, with the Keyblade Symbol in bronze on his forehead. The fins of his helmet stretch very high, resembling the helmet of Terra's armor. His armbands also have a very pointed fin.

In Norse mythology, Bragi was a name given to several characters associated with poetry.

Personality

Though Bragi acts aloof, he possesses great passion and enthusiasm. He often asks Xehanort for his opinion on various matters, whether out of respect or to gauge his intent.

Abilities

Like his classmates, Bragi wields the Keyblade. In battle, he specializes in defense and focuses on defending his allies.
