"Sora" is one minute and twenty-nine seconds long in Kingdom Hearts II, extended to two minutes and thirty seconds in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, two minutes and twenty-three seconds in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, and one minute and fifty-two seconds in Kingdom Hearts III. It plays at a tempo of 132 beats per minute. It has a time signature of 4/4 and is written in the key of D major.
Unlike the character themes of the franchise's other protagonists, "Sora" is characterized by a cheerful melody, befitting Sora's heart and his bonds of friendship.
"Sora - Allegro con brio" is a piano version of "Sora". This version incorporates elements of "Roxas" and, while starting at D major, changes keys to E major and later B major before changing back to D major.
