Chapter 24: Underworld Rhapsody is the twenty-fourth chapter in the Kingdom Hearts II manga.

Story[edit]

At The World That Never Was, Xigbar sends Demyx on a mission to Olympus Coliseum. In the Underworld, Hades summons Auron from the deepest dungeon to take down Hercules in exchange for Auron's freedom. At the Coliseum, Pain and Panic are being strangled by Hercules after informing him of Megara's abduction. Despite not being fully rested, he rushes off to save her. Phil sends Sora, Donald, and Goofy after him, and gives them Olympus Stones for protection against the Underworld draining their energy.

When Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrive in the Underworld, they find Demyx passed out on the ground, having his energy drained. Despite being a member of Organization XIII, Sora gives him his Olympus Stone. Suddenly, Demyx is revived and keeps calling Sora "Roxas". When Sora doesn't respond, Demyx proceeds to attack him. Sora's energy is being drained by the Underworld, and he asks Demyx to give the Olympus Stone back. Demyx returns the stone, immediately becoming weak himself, and leaves through a Corridor of Darkness.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy find Hercules at The Lock, where Megara is imprisoned. Sora spots a Keyhole and uses his Keyblade to unlock it. As Megara is freed, she tries to warn them that it is a trap, but it is too late. Hades appears to announce the Underdrome has been reopened. Demyx reports back on his failed mission.
