Template:Enemy The Lurk Lizard is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It is one of the bosses at Wonderland.

Strategy

Like the Veil Lizard, Lurk Lizard has a tendency to disappear and attack while invisible. In order to locate it, use the sound of its footsteps and the glowing eyes. Whenever they glow, its tongue will lash out. Either avoid the tongue or block it. If you block it, the lizard will be paralyzed for a little while and you can attack it. The lizard is at or near the source of the tongue lash, if you can get there in time. In close range, it spins and whacks it tail at you. This sometimes inflicts the shoe-glue status, making you unable to jump or do aerial combos. To avoid it dealing massive damage to your HP, either stay out of its range and launch Aero/Fire/Blizzard or block its tail. Be sure to bring at least one or more cures with you in case you get caught off-guard.

Attacks

  • Tail Swing: Spins around, hitting players with its tail
  • Laser Eyes: shoots lasers from its eyes, disabling the map.
  • Tongue Attack: Uses its tongue to pull players in, then slashes them with its claws.

Design

The Lurk Lizard is a bipedal lizard resembling a chameleon. It has a teal body, with five blue-green spikes along its back. It often stands hunched over, holding its arms out in front of it. Its arms and legs are striped with zig-zags of blue-grey and a lighter blue, with gold bands at the shoulder, wrist, hip, and ankle. Its hands and feet have three toes each, two in front and one in back, with light green claws. Its prehensile tail is curled up behind it in a spiral. It has a smooth jawline, a pink tongue that can extend to surprising lengths, and large yellow eyes with small black pupils. Its Heartless emblem is on its chest.

Its name comes from the word "lurk", which means to wait around a location without attracting attention, referring to its ability to blend in with its background. Also, it is modeled after a chameleon, a type of lizard.
