Deep Space (ディープスペース, Dīpu Supēsu) is a world from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. It is based on the Lilo & Stitch films, specifically on the intergalactic portions. It is the most recent Disney animated feature to be incorporated into the Kingdom Hearts series, and the second-most recent feature overall (after Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl).

Story

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Terra is the first person to appear in this world. He remains unconscious in a prison and is confronted by Captain Gantu and the Grand Councilwoman. A swarm of Unversed attack them, and Terra breaks free and fights the Unversed. He meets Dr. Jumba Jookiba who tells him to go find Experiment 626 who has gone loose in a ship. When Terra finds him trapped in captivity, he accidentally sets Experiment 626 free making Jumba furious. Out of his anger, Jumba activates Experiment 221 to fight Terra. After the fight, Experiment 221 becomes unactivated and Jumba apologizes to 626 for letting him go.

Aqua is the second person to arrive in this world. She gets attack by a group of Unversed and soon meets Gantu and the Grand Councilwoman. They tell her she must capture Experiment 626 and Jumba so they can't escape. Aqua soon finds Experiment 626 and Jumba and lets them go. However, Gantu appears and plans to arrest her as well. Aqua and 626 fight Gantu for their freedom. After their victory, Jumba congratulates them on a job well done. Aqua then asks Experiment 626 if he could help her in her quest.

Ventus is the last person here. He soon finds 626 and battles a giant Unversed attacking the ship. Gantu eventually finds them and plans to arrest Ven with Experiment 626 and Jumba. Experiment 626 escapes in a red cruiser car and Ven accidentally falls off his Keyblade Rider due to the dash.

In the ending credits, Experiment 626 gets his toy and puts it on the steering wheel as he flies off through space.

Trivia

• Wonderland and Deep Space are the only Disney-based worlds that are not set on "Earth". Halloween Town may or may not actually take place on Earth because in the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack is seen to visit the people of Earth and is attacked by the U.S. Army. However there isn't enough information to draw a definite conclusion on where it actually takes place.
• Deep Space is now the only Disney-based world that is not based on the main setting of its film. The main setting would be Hawaii, which does actually appear in Stitch's summon sequence in Kingdom Hearts II. Neverland was once a case like this until Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, in which parts of the Island itself are explorable.
• Deep Space is one of the few worlds to not actually be a world. It is a large spaceship capable of traveling to other worlds.
