Lv	Materials

The Treasure Trove is a Keychain for Terra's, Ventus's, Aqua's, and the Player's Keyblades that appears in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts χ.

Design

In Birth by Sleep, the Treasure Trove's overall design is modeled after the crystal mines in the Dwarf Woodlands. The handle is brown and seemingly made of wood. The guard is circular and decorated by seven crystals, three white ones, two yellow, and two blue. The base of the blade is adorned by a black minecart filled to the brim with crystals in various shades of blue and yellow. The blade is made up of a short mine track with four crooked planks nailed onto it. A small pickaxe is attached to the head of the Keyblade in the same manner as the planks, forming the Keyblade's teeth. The Keychain is a beige cord that connects to the token, a red jewel. This design is also used for its second upgrade in Kingdom Hearts χ.

In Kingdom Hearts χ, the Treasure Trove's appearance differs depending on its upgrades. Its default appearance is basic, with only two planks on the blade and no crystals on the guard (save for a yellow one at the base). The minecart contains mere rocks, instead of the crystals. In addition, its Keychain displays a green crystal, instead of a red one.

The first upgrade, however, features a substantial improvement on the design. There are now three planks on the blade, and three silver crystals adorn the guard. The cart now adopts a silver coloration and a gold crystal inside, and a cyan crystal is now on the Keychain.

The third upgrade features a silver blade, with four equally silver planks. The cart takes on a brightly silver look with gold wheels and is filled with gold and blue crystals. The guard is now adorned with violet, pearl, and blue crystals all around, and the Keychain is now silver with a gold crystal as the token.

The last upgrade has the most changes to the design. The guard is plastered with silver and gold crystals, and the cart now has silver wheels and the most crystals out of every variant of the weapon. The blade is now golden, with crystals intertwining every plank.

A "treasure trove" is a phrase that refers to finding a hidden treasure, which reflects the gems the Seven Dwarfs mine. The Keyblade's Japanese name holds a similar meaning, with "splendor" meaning "great luster or brilliance". The full name, "Rock Splendor", references the luster of gemstones.
