Story

I'll give a quick explanation as to why I am a Kingdom Hearts fan.

Kingdom Hearts

I first learned about Kingdom Hearts while watching the previews to the Disney movie "House of Mouse: Mickey's House of Villains". I was about seven or eight years old at the time and was (and still am) a Disney-geek. The moment I saw the trailer, my heart rose to my throat and I stopped breathing. I told myself that I wanted that game after seeing so many Disney characters just in one game. Then I saw Sora wielding the Keyblade and summoning at the end and the screen flashed to the title. I remember thinking that Sora was a girl for some odd reason, but that was just the way my young mind worked; I think it had something to do with Sora's thick hairstyle or body form. Months passed and I was at Wal-Mart with my parents in the video game section. I seen the game behind the window-glass and glued myself to the window, not taking my eyes off of the game. I kept thinking of all the reasons why I wanted that game, most of them were Disney related. And I was happy that day as my parents bought the game for me and I rushed home to play it.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

One morning, I was watching cartoons with my brother and my heart stopped beating when I heard Utada Hikaru singing "Simple and Clean". I saw a mini-version of Sora fighting Heartless and almost attacked the TV. That was the year that I also got my very first Game Boy Advance, the first generation. My youngest brother now plays it because he's starting to love the series. This game in the series isn't my favorite because of the card battle system. I told myself that I would be able to figure it out if it were on PlayStation 2, but I still had trouble when it was released.

Kingdom Hearts II

I don't exactly remember how I heard about the releasing of the game, but I think I was doing some research on Kingdom Hearts sites. I remember searching for as many sites as I could that would give me as much information as possible. Most of those websites had pictures and I spent forever looking at them and reading articles. I practically rushed my parents to the store so that they could buy it for me and I had a habit of carrying around a backpack at that time. Inside the backpack, I carried all of my favorites games (which was just Kingdom Hearts at the time), and I was proud to be able to carry another game around. The minute I got home, I locked myself in my room and played the game for about nine hours with only food/drink and bathroom breaks. At the beginning of the game, I questioned it and wondered who this Roxas kid was and why he kept doing everything that Sora had done (the battle with the Twilight Thorn). I remember getting mad at Roxas and even checked multiple times to see if something had messed up the game and wondered if I was even playing a Kingdom Hearts game. Obviously the box and disc said so and Roxas kept having dreams of events that happened in the first Kingdom Hearts, but I felt like I missed Sora and wondered where he was (I hadn't finished Chain of Memories). However, I found myself growing a strong love for Roxas as well and started crying at the end of his story.

Kingdom Hearts Coded

To be honest, I haven't played Coded/Re:Coded yet even though I really want to. I still have to buy the game, but I found out about it through the magic of online.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

I kept checking Kingdom Hearts sites for updates and eventually found out about this new game. At first, I thought that 358/2 Days meant how many days it had left to be released. I asked myself, "Why are they giving me a math quiz?" But I felt stupid the moment I realized it was the title of the game. I played this game nonstop when I got it for Christmas one year until my youngest brother stole my Nintendo DS, because a six-year-old can't live without playing his games. However, I wasn't too upset about it because I was stuck fighting the Ruler of the Sky.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

The moment I heard there was a secret ending to Kingdom Hearts II, I did everything I could to prepare myself for the video. I played on all modes before successfully passing the game and witnessing the Birth by Sleep scene. I instantly wanted to know more about this game. I had hoped this would be Kingdom Hearts III and started to read forums about who the three Keyblade wielders in armor could be. However, I was perfectly okay with this game being just the way it was and it instantly became my favorite game of the entire series.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Although I will have to wait for this game until I am able to buy a Nintendo 3DS, I've already watched a walkthrough on YouTube. I'm not disappointed, the story line was amazing and I look forward to playing by myself.
