Regarding the Manga Chapters

I'm ready to start creating the manga pages for KHII, but there's a problem. Three fan-translated volumes exist for KHII, but I want to create articles for them. Should we use placeholder names similar to Bulbapedia, use the fan-translated names, or just leave them until Yen Press releases Volume 3 (and it's not been announced yet)? Before we even start the KHII articles we need to finish up COM. This means adding the synopsis for each episode ["card"]. Once COM articles are done, then we'll worry about KHII. Having a bunch of blank articles or adding more stubs isn't cool.--Xion4ever 18:55, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm starting to think they're not quite fanart, i.e., I think I might agree with Shard on this. It's not an easy call, and if we do accept them then we'd have to have limits on what kind of minor edits we can accept. Manga/novel images

For the manga, I can upload stuff from the Yen Press translations (as they become available), if you want. I can also upload clean pictures from the KH3D novels at the least (still thinking whether or not I should get the other novels...if they're even available now). Again, if you want it. I'm at university right now, meaning I don't have my manga books with me. However, you could ask Ultima Spark and see what they say. The images of the front cover you can find online are either: edited/altered/different from what is physically published, or have a watermark. I'd ask Ultima Spark or Shard and see what they can do. Manga

Hey, sorry I'm bothering you about the Manga again. I started working on the chapter list, and I asked at the Roundtable if there were any other elements I should include into the Chapter List Template. Right now, I've got Chapter No., Volume No., Chapter Title (TP, YP), and Release Date (TP, YP). They said at the time that they couldn't come up with any more, but told me to ask you because you have the Manga. So, do you have any others you'd like to see? There's no need to apologize- it's no bother at all. A full list is: No. in series (There are 42 chapters total, between the four volumes. This section would be: 1, 2, 3, ...., 16, 17...etc.); No. in volume (TP, YP); English title (YP), Japanese title; [original] Japanese publication date, English publication date. That would be the information needed for the hub page (which I have a rough draft started over on the chapter hub. Remember, from the Roundtable, we've decided to have two different templates. One template for the hub page, consisting of everything in the list I just posted, and a second template, consisting of everything in the previous list plus a summary section. I remember the first template. The way they do it on Wikipedia is that they made another template, but that template goes to the first page and takes the data input there, without the summary. For example, on this wiki, the template would go to the page Kingdom Hearts Manga Volume 1, take the data put in there, and then repost it on the Chapter List page, without the summary. I'm still trying to figure out how it works and how to tweak it to work here.

Looks good to me, overall. However, "No. in series" is kind of vague. Number in what? Chapters? Volumes? We are meaning volumes in this case. I think we should say Volume # instead of just the #. Other than that, I think it looks fine. Check with Neumannz if you want another opinion.

As for what happens next: See the chapter hub. This is what we do next. For the chapter hub, as in List of NCIS episodes (click), we do not need the images or summary sections. The template you currently have would be good for what will replace the Overview/Summary section on the individual volume pages. (Wikipedia example: click. Nice work, though. Do you understand what I'm trying to do for that second template? I'm asking because everytime I explain it, I reread it and it sounds confusing. And I'm the one typing it! Basically, Wikipedia uses a template that, by simply typing in something like {{:TemplateName|Page Name}} in the section, the template goes to the page AND section, takes the info from the episode list, and displays it again, this time, without the summary. That way, we would only put the data once (on the Volume pages), and it with that one line of code, it would show up on the Chapter Hub, too, without summary or image, and without needing to type in the data again. I'm trying to figure out how to tweak it to work, and I think I'm really close., but it's still really confusing. Maybe by this weekend or next week, it will be done (if not tonight, though I hope I can). I understand what you're saying about the Wikipedia template. I don't know how to make it work though. My coding skills on that have become rusty. I'd ask Neumannz or Erry for help on that. If you'd rather spare the time/hassel, we can just make two different templates: one with the summary/image and one without the summary/image. Ok, for my own sanity, I've discarded the template. So, I've recreated the first template, and adjusted it to work without the summary (took forever) and then struggled to get the alternating row colors (took even longer). Yep, they are two different templates, and the data is input twice. A wise idea is to make it so we can simply copy/paste the data (parameters and all) onto the two pages and simply alter the Template name slightly (add a "2", or an "S" for summary, or something). I'll see if I can get it done. Neumannz has approved it, too, as far as I can tell. I might finish it off this week (got AP Exams to get ready for now). KeybladeSpyMaster 04:30, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

UPDATE: Sorry it's been a while since I last worked on this, kind of wrapped up with the Magazine and MegaProject: Arise. Anyways, I finally updated/created the templates, they're here and here. I also added as a comment a recommended list of colors for each game, which I extracted from the game logos. Not sure if that will help. Unfortunately, when I updated the old template, it screwed up the Chapter List here. I tried to fix it, but since I only know chapter one is "Calling", I can't help much there. So, what do you think? Don't worry about the delay, I just finished another year at university. I haven't been on due to finals. All is well! ^_^ As for the templates...: I can't judge the template on the coding from where my coding skills are rusty due to my inactivity. I'm not the best to ask for template help, at least not at the moment. So long as we can get the templates working, it's all good to me. A year or two is indeed a long time; much too long. ^_^ Considering to resume activity? C'mon, man, there is always work to be done on the Wiki! Probably the most active front everyone is working on is the numerous projects started from long ago, but never completed. Check out this forum for information on that. I'm heading the image renovation project. Some specific requests on that have been posted on the forum previously listed. Other than that: Personality sections: Frollo (check; make sure it is game version, not movie perspective); Esmeralda; Phoebus; Quasimodo; Victor, Hugo, and Laverne; CLU; Sam Flynn; Quorra; Kevin Flynn Strategy sections for KHII Gummi missions: Splash Island (mission three); Floating Island (review missions one/two, write mission three); Ancient Highway (all); Broken Highway (all); Sunlight Storm (all); Assault of the Dreadnought (all) Manga Kingdom Hearts II: Synopsis/character lists starting with episode 14 on Kingdom Hearts Days: Synopsis/character lists starting with episode one on That's all I can come up with right at the moment. I dunno, I haven't really played Kingdom Hearts in ages (it's scary because it feels like I'm growing out of it, and I don't want to!), so it's kinda hard to edit the Wiki these days considering my "vast knowledge" has been depleted. I'm trying to get back into the series, but until 2.5 ReMIX or KH3 come out, I'm afraid I just won't be able to start obsessing over the games again to the point where I can edit here consistently and feel motivated to contribute on a daily basis. Plus, I've had problems here in the past with others for no real reason, and considering many of the users I call friends (minus you and NinajSheik) don't really edit here anymore, that decreases motivation even more. I want my admin status back, though, so I may as well get to work! If there are any new policies or things that were put into effect via roundtables I should know about, please catch me up! I think I'll start those personality sections! EDIT 15:33, 25 May 2014 (UTC) : I started analyzing Frollo's personality in KH3D, but I'm having a bit of trouble assembling everything into a cohesive paragraph(s), especially since Frollo is so different in Sora's story from Riku's. Here is everything I've gathered; perhaps you can have better luck: Frollo is a man who seeks to maintain law and order in La Cité des Cloches by any means; he perceives the Gypsies to be a direct threat to this and has spent decades trying to purge the city of them. Unfortunately, his heart has become seeped in darkness in the process. From the first moment he meets Sora, Frollo reveals himself to be extremely against those who are different from himself, assuming the Keyblade wielder is a troublemaking Gypsy simply because of his "disgusting attire." Calls Esmeralda a "Gypsy Witch" despite her obvious kindness. Makes it his sole purpose to capture and put an end to her; calls her a "slippery vermin" and burns her at the stake despite innocence. Manipulates Quasimodo - "The world is cruel." Manipulates him by reminding him of his gruesome visage: "You are deformed and ugly." He claims he is Quasi's only friend. "How can I protect you unless you always stay in here?" Uses Quasi in order to get his hands on the Court of Miracles. First calls the Dream Eaters "virmin" but later has control over them. He controls the Wargoyle, calling it "righteous judgment" and not a "demon." Frollo has been given its power to "smite all Gypsies" Quasimodo believes Frollo is kind because he saved his life, despite the fact that Quasi's mother died trying to save him from Frollo in actuality. Frollo "protects" Quasi from the outside world; made him believe he is a monster. Forbids him from going outside. Attempts to kill both Esmeralda and Quasimodo. In the end, Frollo's deranged mind allows a gargoyle to com to life before him as they do for Quasimodo, leading to his death. Has high expectations for those under his command and little tolerance for failure: "I'm beginning to question having summoned you back from the wars, Captain Phoebus." Frollo has given in to the darkness; he attempts to murder innocent people for harboring Gypsies. Despite having fallen past the point of redemption according to Riku, he believes himself to be a "virtuous man." Much more sadistic in Riku's story; relishes the view of Paris being consumed by flames. Wishes to bring judgment to all; uses the Wargoyle to judge Riku and falls willingly to his death, exclaiming "Judgment is mine!" Described by Riku as a "sad old man with a dark heart." Frollo objects.

Don't feel like there's very little you can do because you can't play the games. There are plenty of projects that don't necessarily require a vast knowledge of the series (though it could come in handy). In April, we organized MegaProject: Arise, a new community project designed to increase community activity and interest in the Wiki and the series. Included in this huge task is the forum Xion4ever pointed out of finishing out existing projects. We've got a reworking of Traverse Town in the works so that it actually gets used, and a revamping of the Main Page so that it's more visually appealing and people will stay here and contribute. The Mirage Arena is starting up again, we've got the Magazine and Podcast being planned out and (hopefully) finished by July. There's a lot to do now, and things are looking to get better on the wiki. I, for one, think it's great that you're back. I think, as a former admin, your opinion and contribution to these and other projects like those Xion pointed out would be great to have. So, Welcome Back!

One of the best ways I found to get "inspired" or back into the swing of things is by choosing a page to work on- random page/whatever needs worked on- and start playing that game in order to fix the article. Then I split off to do other articles on the same game. Then I start seeing work needed on other game articles, and then...you get the idea. ^^ Sometimes we gotta inspire ourselves instead of waiting for stuff, you know? On the subject of users/friends: Indeed, most people from our previous years have moved on. But, there are a lot of good users here. Lot of great stuff going on. As for policies...the best way to catch up on that stuff would be through the logs on the Roundtable page. I don't believe much has changed since your last time here... About Frollo's personality: Great points! Those are definitely handy. I'll see what I can do. Keyblade makes some good points. They are seeking help on updating our KHWiki:Traverse Town and main pages. The forums for both can be found at TWTNW. Now that I'm done with college, I'll be able to edit a lot more (although there are plenty of books I wanna read over the summer, too! ^__^;). I've noticed that in the sub-sections for the Kingdom Hearts II, only some of them have First and Second Visits sections while others do not. I thought it last night, and I thought maybe it could be possible to discard those subsections to keep consistency with the articles? What do you think?
