Name's Annette, but whilst I'm online I go by the name troisnyxétienne. I'm a long-time mod over here.

Why Kingdom Hearts ?

It all started in late 2002 when I first got my PS2. I had a host of games but I wasn't at all interested in them... until one day, when my cousin gave me a brand new Kingdom Hearts disc. I was indeed attracted to it because of the presence of Disney characters. I played it and from then on, I became more and more addicted to it. And ever since then, I tried to get every single Kingdom Hearts game available for my console. Well, I'm here now !

Where have you been ?

In case you were wondering where TNÉ had disappeared for so long, I was in National Service for about 85 days. I was posted to East Malaysia - the camp was in Sungai Rait, a rather remote place in Miri, Sarawak, and I had to be there just six days after my exams were over. I survived with almost no internet (I only got to use the computer five times throughout my stint) and believe me, I experienced heaven and hell in one go. More of the latter, I'd say. Yes, fine, my company (En Avant Bravo) won and I've been awarded Best Trainee, but it still doesn't make much difference. Because I suffered. Not only did I suffer with the camp conditions and the horrible food, I also had to bear the burden of handling a whole bunch of morons, with their ungodly behaviour.

Oh, and in case you're wondering what that picture in my infobox is, that's the symbol of Bravo Company. It was up to us to add on to the name, and so we switched it to En Avant Bravo ("en avant" is French for the imperative "ahead" or "advance"). The symbol is rather simple : as we had to design our symbols based on weapons of the past, we just spliced an axe into the National Service logo and now we call it our own ! I just felt like putting it there because I wanted to celebrate - because we at En Avant Bravo were crowned champions for this batch.

What with the long username ?

Divide troisnyxétienne into three parts and you get trois (French for three), nyx (a girl's name, referencing night and darkness), and étienne (a guy's name, the equivalent of Stephen). The username means a lot : many things happen in threes. Good things happen in threes, bad things happen in threes, and the number three is indeed significant in the Scriptures and in events around the world. As for the second component, there is darkness in everyone's lives. Even if we don't follow the path of darkness, night is bound to fall on us at some point in time - be it through difficult economic conditions, or the loss of a family member (that's my case) - anything. And as for Étienne, well, I have un certain regard for St Stephen's martyrdom. From all these, you get one long username.

I usually shorten it to troisnyx or TNÉ, depending on the number of characters required.
