Sora in Valor Form, wielding the Kingdom Key and Oathkeeper keyblades.

Valor Form (Brave Form in the Japanese version) is the first Drive Form attained in Kingdom Hearts II. Sora merges with Goofy to transform. The form turns Sora's clothes into a red and black color scheme with a fleur-de-lis on each sleeve and pant leg. In this form, Sora wields two keyblades. This form focuses on attack, and is the most offensive than any other form. Valor Form allows Sora to get in close and bash away to do heavy damage in a short amount of time, at the cost of losing the ability to cast magic.

How to Obtain

This form is obtained along with Sora's new clothes at Yen Sid's Tower. It is the first Drive Form to be obtained.

Leveling Up

The Valor Form has the easiest way to level compared to the others. It levels up simply by landing successful hits on an enemy, and Valor Form has a very long combo.

Abilities

Action

Ability Description
Brave Shot A strong combo finisher that knocks an opponent into the air.
  • Brave Beat

Description: A strong combo finisher that damages many opponents with multiple hits.

  • Sonic Strike

Similar to Sonic Blade from KH1, Sora spears an enemy with one of his keyblades midair, dealing massive damage. Thanks to the Omega Finale ability, Sora can use this move anytime with the press of the Square button, making itself a sort of single-hit power attack (this is useful if you are surrounded and can't knock off your combos or if you need to get away fast because the move has some range).

  • Sonic End

Slashes furiously in midair, ending with a powerful "X" slash.

  • Over the Horizon

Description: Pressing Square causes you to attack the target with a speedy jump.

  • Omega Finale

Description: Pressing Square while in a combo uses a combo finisher even in the middle of the combo.

  • Retaliating Slash

Description: When thrown into the air, press Square to recover and counter-attack.

Growth

  • High Jump

This ability lets you jump even higher than normal. Sora does a backflip when he uses high jump. This move's height greatly exceeds itself from the original KH.

Support

  • Synch Blade

Description: Allows Sora to wield two Keyblades at once.

  • Combo Plus

Description: Added attacks to prolong combos.

  • Air Combo Plus

Description: Added attacks to prolong air combos.

Pros

  • Good enhancement in strength and overall stats.
  • EXPs can be gained as Sora strikes enemies, thus making it the easiest Form to level-up.

Cons

  • Magic is disabled. However, this can be mitigated should Donald serves as a healer.

Trivia

  • If one uses a cheat device to get this Form while still playing as Roxas, they will discover that Dual-Wield Roxas and Valor Form have the same abilities.
  • Oddly, despite that Magic can't be used, Sora still gets an MP boost.
