Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix: Enemy Journal Entries

I can make screenshots of the entries but neither write them down nor translate them. I don't know who's responsible for the entries of the exlusive KH Final Mix enemies (maybe someone from gamefaqs?) but can you, BebopKate or Yuanchosaan translate them or know someone who can?--ShardofTruth 20:25, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I tried to get the Japanese writings recognized by two different OCR softwares (RedIris Pro 12 and Smart OCR lite Edition), but I got no satisfactory result, even with a lot more bigger images and better contrast etc. The KHII font seems to be very complicated or strange, I don't know. Maybe you have an better idea, here are the images. --ShardofTruth 13:35, June 18, 2010 (UTC)

Well, apparently I've lost my source. Putting that aside, what do you want to do with the "Notes"? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 20:58, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

KH & KHFM gummi enemies

Yes I know, it's a bit early to talk about them, the KHII section isn't even finished yet. But maybe you have an idea how to adapt the template for them. This is an extreme example from the Ultimania. Not every ship has two variants (Omega is the only ship that as a "C" variant) or sub variants (they just seem to affect the drops, maybe they are the "before/after rescue" equivalents, I don't know). Nearly every main variant (A, B or C) has a different Final Mix appearance, the stats are the same though.--ShardofTruth 22:41, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

BBS Ultimania and Mirage Arena

XMbQaeM.png
ShardofTruth Once you believe, truth and lie are quite the same thing. — 20:14, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png Unfortunately I still don't have the BBS Ultimania, but maybe I can help you nonetheless.

The only scaned pages that I found online are the one's at Heartstation. But as you may already saw, there are no scans of the Mirage Arena in particular. But the guide of MardukKurios does cover all the seeds (one guide on gamefaqs too), he uses the Ultimania so the info should be correct. Now all that rememains are the stats.

The stats in BBS work like I explained for KHII in the other thread. Every normal enemy (like Bruiser) has an HP and EXP coefficient that has to be multiplied with a value that is fixed for every level (and playable character in BBS's case I think). Now there are two different level systems in BBS, one for the Mirage Arena (the difficulty level) and one for the normal gameplay. Therefore a Bruiser in the Challenge "Day of Reckoning" (e.g. Round 1, 3rd wave) should have 90 HP whereas in "Weaver Fever" (e.g. Round 1, 1st wave) it should have 108 HP. I didn't translate every stat and explanation, because I'm very slow at it, so maybe there is more to take account off. The stats may have also be changened in the NA/PAL version, I don't know. I hope some of this helps anyway.

I'm planning to get the BBS Ultimania, but not at the moment.

I'm using part of Neumannz work for the Mirage Arena on this one:

Difficulty Match HP EXP Strength Defense
★☆☆☆☆ Day of Reckoning, Risky Riches 50 10 13 4
Wheels of Misfortune 55 12 16 5
★★☆☆☆ Weaver Fever, Dead Ringer 60 15 19 7
Sinister Sentinel 75 19 21 10
★★★☆☆ Treasure Tussle 75 19 21 10
Combined Threat, Harsh Punishment 85 27 24 13
★★★★☆ A Time to Chill, Copycat Crisis 105 45 30 16
★★★★★ Keepers of the Arena 130 63 36 19
Villain's Vendetta N/A N/A 40 20

Strength and Defense are fixed, HP and EXP must be multiplied (except for the bosses). --ShardofTruth 08:47, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Maps

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png I made the 358 Days one first, because I thought it would be the easiest. I was wrong^^

The image is a compilation of screenshots and ripped textures. It's not possible to get the real world map without building it again in a 3D editor. It's quite clever designed though, just hard to rip. KH is next and then CoM and ReCoM, I'm still brooding over the KHII and BBS one.

XMbQaeM.png
ShardofTruth Once you believe, truth and lie are quite the same thing. — 16:39, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png Okay, a litte update on the KHII, BBS and sadly the KH map. The problem is, that the world maps consist of different layers which also vary in the space between them. If the camera position is changed, only the layers most close to the camera change it's position largely whereas the viewpoint on the layers at the bottom (the background stars and the clouds) change very litte.

Also because even the pathways are textured 3D models or vectors it's not possible to rip them with normal methods. Without ripping all models and building them in a new application or get control of the camera functions in the game it's not possible to get the real world maps.

Maybe there is a more simple solution, but I don't know if its accurate enough: The guidebooks provide their own world maps (1 and 2) which are more schematic. I could "remake" them with actual ingame textures and backgrounds. That's also a lot of work and because of their fanmade and semi-official history they maybe won't accepted as wiki material. I'd like to ask for your opinion about this matter.

Honestly, the background stars don't matter - if you can more easily rip just the worlds and paths, that would be sufficient, and just throw them on a black or invisibible background. However, if it's not possible to rip them at all, Then getting the planetoid rips and matching them to a schematic should be fine for now. It's way more than we have right now, neh?

Unversed stats, Battle Levels and Mirage Arena

XMbQaeM.png
ShardofTruth Once you believe, truth and lie are quite the same thing. — 10:42, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png I was thinking a while about this, but I didn't come up with a good solution, so that are just my thoughts.

I know it was very complicated to implement the BBS stats tab for the three characters, but I think even now it doesn't cover all information, which can even lead to false assumptions. The main reason why the stats are varying greatly for the characters and the worlds have one simple reason: the Battle Level. I'm most likely telling you nothing new, just to make this clear: the Battle level is the golden number that is shown on the world map before landing an the actual world. Because TVA visit the worlds in different orders, the battle level is mostly never the same on the same world. But that's only the beginning. Through events, I haven't figured out completely (maybe it's just the end game save with the star or the used difficulty), the battle level changes near or after endgame. Radiant Garden gets the Battle Level 10 for Terra, while 9 for Ven and stays 6 for Aqua (but goes up to 10 in Final Episode). So the stats for the Flood would be false in Terra's and Ven's case, if the Battle level change occurs . Because the Battle Level is so important, wouldn't it be better to use it as foundation for the stats and not the location?

Pro:

  • better overview: dismiss the Terra, Ven and Aqua tab, just one for normal gameplay and one for the Mirage Arena
  • if coded correctly: only the multipliers of HP and EXP would be needed to fill out the stats of every regular enemy because strength and defense are fixed

Contra:

  • location based stats are easier to understand

TALK -
Right now, it's coded so that the stats are based on the battle level, it just doesn't show the battle level (I think). If you can figure out what the levels are at the different events, those could be put in too, I guess, though this is really starting to get confusing.

Oh, and I still need to code the Mirage Arena. Sorry.

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png God, I feel stupid right now. I should've at least checked the template before I wrote this message. Maybe I come up with a feasible solution for the battle level change.

Okay, I made the definite battle level table, enjoy the view and become desperate.

*called Badlands before unlocking the Keyblade Graveyard, the battle level of the fight against Vanitas Remnant is considered 99 by the Ultimania
#can't be visited at this point

The battle level of Terra and Ven after completing the Final Episode can be glitched so it stays the same as before completing the game. Some argue that the glitch is the increasing of the battle level instead. But that would mean that the level of the Keyblade Graveyard wouldn't rise from 9 to 10 which is cleary the case in the Japanese version and described by the Ultimania. --ShardofTruth 22:18, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

At this point, I think we're down to these points:

  1. What statuses are there in KH besides Stun, Poison, Gravity, Stop and Aero Shield? (What is the effect that Kurt Zisa inflicts?)
  2. What statuses are there in KHII besides Stun, Magnet, and Freeze? (And do we count Doom in the Marluxia battle, that continuously damaging effect from the Xemnas I battle, or the effects from the Lingering Will battle?)
  3. What positive statuses are there in COM/ReCOM and BBS? (Do we count some enemy card effects? Is Illusion a status effect?)

Hi Kryten. Just wondering if you want these articles carried over or not:

Thanks!

Suite template

Kryten, I was moving some "(Boss)" labelled pages to the game namespace for the correct utilization of the suite template and I realized: What do we do with pages like Maleficent (Dragon) or World of Chaos? Due to their label, the suite template will not recognonize them as part of the character suite, or am I missing somenthing important here?

--Dark-EnigmaXIII 07:48, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

For "mostly bosses", we can either keep in them in the mainspace, or split off the game strategy stuff into a Game: page, creating two pages out of the current one. For specific stuff like Dragon Maleficent or Genie Jafar, it's also open to discussion whether we want to merge them into the Maleficent and Jafar articles, now that there is going to be more room on each page.
The simplest solution would be to leave them in the mainspace, but I would personally prefer if we could merge them into their parent articles (at least for story), as they operate very similarly to how we merge the various versions of one character (like Valor Form or Timeless Mickey). If you guys agree, just mark them with merge templates and I can handle the cleanup.
Also, if people prefer that the boss sections be separated so that each page only covers one of the boss's forms, then there's a version of the suite code that allows a custom navbox to be built, so that Maleficent's suite could have:
  • Character
  • Cards
  • Quotes
  • Gallery
  • Gameplay (Witch)
  • Gameplay (Dragon)
  • etc.
Just tell me whatever you guys decide you want to do, and I can get you the code."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:25, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean by "mostly bosses", but I agree with merging the non-gameplay sections into parent articles, and I like the idea of letting the suite template take custom input, like how the Character/Enemy templates take custom image tabs. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:54, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Neumannz: I mean those articles that we never made (Boss) articles for because it didn't seem necessary to split off the strategy "due to article size". Stuff like World of Chaos, or Jafar's Shadow, or Lucifer. However, the suite template gives us a bit more leeway with making "separate" pages, because they are still clearly tied together and it ends up acting like tabs."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:19, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Well, it seems like a good idea to me. So, overall, for "boss only" articles regarding character would be split in a similar way we did it a wikia? An overview section and a boss section? (of course, heartless and Nobodies wouldnt get that treatment, I assume) And yes, the suite template should offer a certain degree of customization for this kind of cases.
--Dark-EnigmaXIII 17:00, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I'll set up the customsuite template tonight. What will happen is that pages like Maleficent will have their own /suite page that defines how their suite displays, so the coding will be a little bit different than for the ones where the suite generates automatically."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:05, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Why create a new template for it? All you need is an #ifexists for the X/Suite page. Then you don't have to worry about whether or not it's custom. Simply creating the X/Suite page would be enough, then the template can handle it from there. Soxxeh 17:15, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
That is the goal, yes. Sorry if I phrased it poorly."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro)

Overdrive is:

  • Auron's Limit ability
  • Maleficent's Enemy Card's effect
  • Terra's D-Link's LV1 ability

How many articles? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 19:02, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

At least two, but probably three. I can't remember if Terra's finisher is at all similar to Auron's finisher...maybe just two.192.249.47.195 20:31, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Overdrive is not Terra's finisher, it's the passive ability. It boosts strength when HP is low. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:08, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Huge non-KH request

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png Okay, I've done everything I can at this point, there are good and bad news. Firstly there is no general PSX game unpacker or one for this game specifically. All methods I tried were indirect ripping methods, which work fine for texture and videos, but not for 3D models. I tried several methods to aquire model data through different "3D screenshot" programs and interceptors, but this only works to a minimal extent for PSX games given the special way 3D models are rendered on the PS1 and how most emulators work. So this was a failure which leaves traditional screenshots as the only option to get images of the 3D models, unfortunately I don't have any savegames for this game anymore, so I can't get you images of these boss monsters.

But I could get all sprites, you can find all isometric facing lower-left ones here. They don't have names, because I can't remember them (anymore). I also could get you the two overworld maps and the movies, if you want them. But the movies are really small, so screenshots from them wouldn't get any better than they are on the wiki now.

WOOWWWW. Thanks!70.34.147.3 05:45, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png I made another major update and I think I covered all your requests this time. I finally could fix my savegames after all these years and complete the game after all. So I named the sprites and updated a few, added the two server maps and movieshots to the archive. Then I thought by myself: Maybe I can make screenshots good enough to make up for the renders.

The problem with this game is that the GUI is always overlapping portions of the models, so I had to make quite a lot of screenshots with a lot of different digimon partners to get good results. This took a long time, so please give me some credit if you upload them somewhere and please don't ask for more^^. Also, if you seen this game in action you'll know, that the PSX ability to render 3D images is really bad, so I don't be too disappointed with the image quality. Also because the first Galacticmon phase has this floating image behind it, it looks really bad without background, so I kept it.

Sockpuppet?

Hey there, Kryten. I'm pretty sure this user is a sockpuppet of this user, since the naming convention is the same. Also, most of the edits to HollowBastion's userpage have been made by Organization101. So, do what you will with that. Chitalian8 14:41, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Drive Form crap

What's your take on this thing? Never mind the fact it's not in a "finished" state, do we want to bring infoboxes back to the Drive Form articles? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 22:10, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

"Obtained", "Represents", "Level up by", "Mirror Description", and "Status Screen Description" are all going to be very wordy, more than comfortably fits inside an infobox.
I don't understand what "Boosts" is supposed to be. Does it mean what passive abilities the drives have? The "upgrades" that a Drive has all derive from its passive abilities, not any general increase to stats.
"Synch Blade", "Form Color", "Growth Ability", and "Support characters" (if Support means "who gets eaten by the Drive") all seem like they could work in an infobox...but "form color" has no real significant within the games (and honestly seems like it's mostly our own OR), and Synch Blade and Support characters are not only gameplay stuff, but form the basis of the gameplay stuff, so there's really no way they wouldn't be redundant to the article itself, unlike the stats we normally keep in these things.
My personal take is that infoboxes and tables work best when the subjects are setup so that each is very "fill in the blank". Forms, for the most part, do not work that way on the whole...although there are several bits that act like switches between the forms, such as Synch Blade, too much of the mechanics are either wordy and complex, or just not comparable—for example, that Anti Form cannot use magic or healing and cannot deactivate on command, that Wisdom Form doesn't use regular attacks, or that Valor Form doesn't use magic.
Basically, my view is that infoboxes and tables are useful when they present the information more legibly than prose does. The few things that an infobox could handle for the Forms seem, to me, like they would be easier to read as they are now, in the lead. This seems to me like creating an infobox just so we can have an infobox.
That's my opinion, but consensus is as consensus does. I do not think this thing should be implemented without community approval, and if a forum or talk page is created to approve it, I'd like the above critique to be made available."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:33, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

"Obtained" probably wouldn't be so bad in an infobox. I'm guessing "Boosts" is about whether Strength and/or Magic get boosted, but unless you're going to say by how much, it's too vague to mean anything (although there should be specific stat increases, shouldn't there?). "Form color" strikes me as something that should affect the appearance of the infobox, instead of being displayed. Aside from that, yeah, it does seem that the only real benefit is having a nice box to put the image in.

...Why don't we have the stat increases? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 22:51, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Unless I'm very mistaken, there aren't any. Wisdom Form has Magic Spice, Master Form has Master Magic, and Final Form has Crime & Punishment (I think), which are the things that actually power up the magical attacks, alongside a host of MP Haste and MP Rage-style abilities. I've never heard of it actually producing a boost to stats akin to equipped items."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 23:01, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Really? You don't see a quantified difference in stats in the Status menu? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 23:08, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

I'll check the guide, but I've personally never heard or seen it producing a direct boost to stats. The passive abilities tied into it might, though."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 23:38, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: Admin position

In case you don't have my page under watch, here's the message I left: All right, I understand. I guess it's my own fault since I didn't know what I could do around here. With school and everything, you guys are always editing ahead of me. When the wiki gets busy again, I do want admin position back to block the vandals. By the way, can you delte the message you left on the old wiki. I ask for it to be protected, so I can delete it myself.

EDIT: Oh, one more thing! Can you please keep track of my editing? I don't keep up of how many edits I make since use the MonoBook and can't keep track of my edits. Let me know when I met the quota, please. I do want my rank back, and I promise to apply myself more (although I don't know since there's hardly anything I can do. I mostly good in grammar).--NinjaSheik 01:55, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Sure, sure. We'll check back on the 9th, and any previous staff who made the cut this time will be repromoted."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 03:56, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
'Kay, thanks. Hey, Koro, I was wondering. Can you teach how to redirect pages? I never done it before, even with all the wikis I edit at. Like, ever. I won't wanna have the other users to revert my edits because I remove the red links and caused them trouble.--NinjaSheik 04:00, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Ideas for the KHII Walkthrough

KieraTalk.png

480MS.png I know that you'll most likely turn this idea down, but I've thought of a good idea regarding the templates (other than the Table of Contents) for the walkthrough for KHII. My idea is that the colors on the templates be matched to suit the world (eg: blue and grey for Space Paranoids, brown for Port Royal). All we just do is type the intals of the world's name (eg: OC for Olympus Coliseum), and it will automatically take that color. If intals are not typed in, the colors will be the default type.

I only thought of this idea because the command box at the lower-left corner of the screen is different depending on the world you are at. But it's up to you.

That actually sounds brilliant, though I'd like to suggest: why don't we go whole hog and try and get the actual command box as a border for the templates? Could you talk to Erry, Soxra, and Shard, and see if that's something we could reasonably do, or whether the sprites just won't allow it?192.249.47.195 15:09, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
I would, but I want to hear what KK has to say first. UxieLover1994 15:37, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
