Keyblade

The Keyblades are mysterious weapons that partially have a will of their own.

Acquisition

A Keyblade is said to choose its own master. This may be through love, power, or other unknown virtues.

Powers

A Keyblade can utilize magic abilities, such as Firaga magic. Sora's can lock people's hearts, along with the hearts of worlds. Riku's is able to unlock said things. A Keyblade can teleport itself to its master. It also acts like a homing signal to the Heartless.

Sora's Keyblade

Sora's Keyblade, also known as The Keyblade of The World of Light by some fans, was given to him when his home world, Destiny Islands was destroyed by the darkness. Its default key chain is the Kingdom Key. It is commonly referred to within the game as "The Keyblade."

Roxas has two Keyblades; one with the default key chain Oblivion, the other with the default key chain Oathkeeper.

Mickey’s Keyblade

King Mickey’s Keyblade, also known as The Keyblade of The World of Darkness by some fans, has an unknown origin, but is assumed to have been acquired in The World of Darkness. Its default key chain is an inverted version of the Kingdom Key.

Riku's Keyblade

Riku's Keyblade is assumed to have been given to him by Maleficent. It has no key chain until it turns from Soul Eater to Way to Dawn.

Kairi's Keyblade

Kairi's Keyblade is given to her by Riku in the World that Never Was. Its default key chain is the Mysterious Abyss.

Princesses of Heart's Keyblade

A nameless keyblade made out of the hearts of the seven Princess of Heart. It have the power to unlock peoples hearts and is used by Riku When he is possessed by Xehanort's Heartless.

False Keyblades

Some characters have weapons very much like Keyblades. These include:

• Leon wields a keyblade-like weapon that also resembles a sword and a revolver.
• Cloud Strife also wields a keyblade-like weapon that resembles a sword covered in bandages.
