The Cera Terror is derived from the Triceratops. Its general appearance is very similar to the triceratops dinosaur, albeit the two long horns on its head. Several buzz saw-like spikes also covers its body, and its body is primarily colored in red and yellow.

The Dream Eater's Japanese name combines the Japanese word for "horn" ( tsuno?) and "Triceratops". Its English name first has "Cera", as in "Triceratops" and "Terror", which is perhaps an allusion to its first appearance in which a group of Cera Terrors stampede through Traverse Town's Back Street section.
