The Bullet Gargoyle serves as a boss for both Riku and Sora in La Cité des Cloches and faces Sora on behalf of the Spellican in Traverse Town during his second visit there.
After Quasimoto rescues Esmeralda before she can be burned at the steak, a wingless version of the Bullet Gargoyle confronts Sora, but is destroyed by him.
During Riku's visit to La Cité des Cloches, he encounters the Bullet Gargoyle several times before actually facing it in battle. Eventually, Riku encounters Frollo atop Notre Dame where Frollo falls to his death, which summons the Bullet Gargoyle again. After a grueling final fight, the Bullet Gargoyle is defeated.
The wingless Bullet Gargoyle is summoned by the Spellican to replace the fallen Hakozaru in battle.
