Image Notice

Photobucket is a site geared toward hosting images that lets you upload your images to your own account. Like the wiki, it requires little personal information to set up an account, but unlike the wiki, the images are your own (unlike on the wiki, where posting them means you give up all rights to claim ownership), and can only be viewed if you want them to be. Also, as photobucket is an image server, hosting the images there does not drain the wiki's own data space and bandwidth so much as would here.

Imageshack is a similar image server, with the added bonus of not requiring an account if you don't want one. While you can sign up for a personal account much like Photobucket, you can also upload an image as an anonymous user. Imageshack will store the image and give you the url and html embedding information for the image, allowing you to anonymously upload images to Imageshack and then post them elsewhere (like on the wiki), as an external link.

The primary advantages of using external servers are:

1. They allow you to retain ownership of your images - any images which remain here now belong to anyone who wants them.
2. They reduce the load on the wiki's own servers, making it faster and reducing the amount of overloads we get.
3. They allow you to use the image's on your own websites or on forums, instead of being restricted to wiki.

Only images that are important to the main articles (ie, images created by SE or Disney) should be uploaded to the wiki, as this allows them to load slightly quicker, making it easier to browse the wiki for information. Due to the large amount of textboxes used on the talk pages, images used as a textbox avatar (not as a userpage avatar) should also be uploaded, to reduce the load time on talk pages. However, the slightly slower load time for user pages with large fan art galleries is very much compensated for by the overall faster load time for the entire wiki if those images are externally hosted; thus, "user art" should be externally hosted.Glorious CHAOS! 22:09, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

I noticed you had created a page for Utada Hikaru. I did one for Quinton Flynn...I'll handle Voice Actors, should this be the way we do things...Should you see this, we should discuss it on the IRC sometime tonight or tomorrow... I just need the video fixed. Also, I think we should only cover Organziation XIII and the main Keyblade Wielders in terms of Voice actors, as well as the main Disney characters (ie. I actually think we should just work on fleshing these two out for now. Two is a good starting number for a demo, and if the proposal gets turned down then we've done a lot of work for nothing. kh2.co.uk would be a good source to search for relevant info, since wikipedia has hardly anything on KH info for the two. I might also try uploading the mp3's for the Utada tracks, though I'm not sure what the policy is on full songs - I have no capability for cutting them, though.Glorious CHAOS! 04:41, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

About the songs, I believe that'd be copyright infringememnt, as it is for Yoko Shimomura's pieces, so I'd ask Azul or Guardian Soul how to make the 30-second clips like we have now.

I know the colors (you do know you can just type a color name, correct?), and could change the template colors if you want....also, I was thinking the Cloud (Boss) article should be tabbed as we did w/ Thresholder/Posesssor. The page looks a tad crammed, in my opinion. Plus, I could edit the template for KH2 Cloud and CoM Cloud on these new tabs. Do what you will with these. There is a cool image of the Coliseum Pillars next to the Cerberus avatar. Perhaps this could be implemented into that Coliseum template you'd been planning to do?

I could probably figure it out myself, but since you do this so often with boss articles, I thought I would just ask you.

I've left a message at his talk page, and I'd like you to see it and add to it, so as to further aid our operation of these templates.

The Worlds template can only be changed by Admins so could you add Kingdom Hearts (world) to it? Also where should I put the Door to Darkness page? It could be added to either Kingdom Hearts (world) or the new Universe of Kingdom Hearts page which I hope you take a look at and see if I need to do anything else. I also need someone who can read Japanese to look at Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts Vol. 2 and translate the image just so I'm sure as to what the actual CD is called. I don't think it will be Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts Vol. 2 Thank you!

It appears we're going soft on IP's and such, so I like that idea, better. Thanks.

English 358/2 Days Heartless Names Update

TALK - 10:17, September 27, 2009 (UTC) ENX would like you to go onto his user page and look at his English Days Gameplay Section. They apparently contain many videos with Heartless names, English cutscene quotes, item names, world objectives etc. He said that you wanted to redirect heartless pages that are named poorly and that looking at these videos would be helpful for you. Also ENX wants to know if he can help you with the whole editing 358/2 thing. He says he knows that you wanted to it mainly yourself for you birthday (which may I say Congrats to) but he'd like to know if you would like him to help you out. You'd do most of the work apparently. He says he's got videos, cutscenes etc that you can redirect, render whatever that he can upload if you want him to that contain more information on English 358/2 days names. That's about it, could you reply on ENX's page as he says he's too busy to check your page if you will accept his offer or not. P.S. I was thinking that we could do the same thing for worlds on enemy articles. Under worlds we could just put small logos and line them up. Of course, we couldn't do this right away, because we'd need to be able to obtain one logo for every world, but I just wanted to show you an example to see what you think. It would probably look something like this:

Well, there are 2 (maybe more) ways to check if the guide is wrong. One is checking the game after consulting the guide, the other is checking the guide after consulting the game. Both have their pros and cons. As far as stats are concerned, they are pure numbers, you write what you see, there can be no misinterpretations. You don't need to read all this, but personally I think you would save time after all..

In Saix's weapon template, it links the Berserker weapon to the Nobody's page of the same name. Unless you decided to put the weapon within that article, it doesn't make sense. Perhaps create a Berserker (Weapon) page?

Well it is a wiki, and it is for information, so if you do not want battle quotes, then what is even the point of having a Battle Quotes heading? It is not like I added false information, and why shouldn't I re-add it? It is true, I have the game, beaten it, and at least I made sure that the information I added was accurate. If you are trying to get rid of "white space", then get rid of the Battle quotes section in all. What is the point of having a section that is just "white space" and adding any information to it is still "white space". So if you could please explain to me, why are you even trying to get rid of information that some may find interesting? I enjoy looking at the battle quotes, so is it really that wrong to add to the information that is already here? I did not spam, nor did I post anything that is false. So if you do not want people adding "white space" then get rid of battle quotes since the quotes that I posted are obviously useless. It would keep people from being misled as it did for me.

Some text comes across the screen, so I wanted to see if it shows what the enemy is called. If it doesn't say, then how do you think we should handle this for now?

Help for the tab input

Unbirth and I were planning to use the same infobox tab idea over KHFR. Problem is, I've been desperate enough to copy most of the CSS/JS functions on the MediaWiki namespace, but the template still isn't working.

The template is at w:c:fr.kingdomhearts:Modèle:Sans-coeur - and the afterslashes (KH, COM etc) are the same.

Gear Lists

ok, i gotta ask, since i made the changes and put the argument in the talk page, what is the purpose of leaving the lists of gears on Panel System and Gear to include the sizes and "+"'s instead of just listing those on their individual pages? it just clutters the list and doesn't help in any way. also, while redirecting all those gear varieties is all well and good, wouldn't it be better to not have to, i.e. to have them all set to the same link (i.e. Technical Gear ③, Technical Gear+ ③ both link directly to Technical Gear instead of each having it's own redirect)? --Neumannz 22:25, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

1. Any official term that appears in the games should be searchable here. There is no guarantee that every reader of this wiki is a KH expert (in fact, it's very unlikely).
2. Those two articles are not summaries, they are lists. Of every gear. For example, what if someone for some reason wants to know how many different types of panels there are? (Maybe they are trying to see if they have the same count in their game) Truncating the list because of similar entries would screw them up, and it's a less elegant solution to say "Just go to every page linked here and see if there are multiple versions listed".Glorious CHAOS! 22:29, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

I took one of the Wikimon templates and used it as an example. We probably shouldn't do it exactly like this, since it's so similar to Wikimon's, but we could do something very similar.

I think it could be done by having the infobox automatically tab, but for example, with Leechgrave, it's one Days appearance would create three tabs - a profile tab, a stats tab, and a Days stats tab within the stats tab. But how would you get more games' stats tabs within the Stats tab? Also, would the individual stats tabs have the picture or even the name of the enemy, or just the stat bit? If we did get this figured out (definitely not this week), it would incorporate the current infobox, the locations, and the journal bits, right? Leaving only "Story", "Strategy", and possibly "Etymology"?

"Please do not upload images which are not produced by Square Enix or Disney, or are irrelevant to the project" does not trump "If you wish to upload your own fanart, you MUST assert that you drew it. Just keep it out of the mainspace", because the latter one is not a default. The default version has no restrictions at all; it merely says "Use this form to upload files". Furthermore, none of the restrictions are a matter of consensus, as only admins can alter them. For reference, if you think it should be changed, then an admin needs to edit MediaWiki:Uploadtext. Until such an edit is made, I retain the right to upload fanart under the condition I quoted previously, because said condition remains in writing as part of the wiki's policy on uploads until an edit is made to make it say otherwise. P.S. Why is KHwiki so tetchy about this? I've never yet known any other wiki, e.g. FFwiki, to be anti-fanart-upload. Category: I rest my case

I somewhat object to punishing innocents like myself by banning fanart uploads outright just because of a few jerks – especially since the jerks can still externally host their fanart and then link to it, so you still can't prevent it from being put in the mainspace by just forbidding it. Nonetheless, I accept it now that the text has been altered. I will happily allow my other fanart sprite scenes to be deleted too, as I am now externally hosting them. Unused Panels?

And by some chance, I had brought my dice along! — 03:42, November 8, 2009 (UTC) Take a look at this sprite sheet: Sprite Sheet It seems to me that there are many panels in this image that don't actually appear in the game. For example... the "elemental" panels match to, as well as the weird ST UP2 and ST UP3 by them Row of panels under the LV UP, LV Doubler, LV Tripler, and LV Quadrupler The blue Dodge Roll in the near-top left corner of the yellow ability block The robot-looking panels that appear in the yellow ability block Most of the last two rows of the yellow ability block (P)-looking panel in the "other" block Panel with red Limit Break sign over dark background in the "other" block Are these panels that were left out of the final product, or are they actual in-game panels?

• The Blue Dodge Roll, Blue Aerial Recovery, Blue Sliding Dash, Blue Haste, Blue High Jump, Red Treasure Magnet isn't anything. Apparently just palette swaps.
• The first five equipments, the elemental, and the stat ups aren't anything, as far as I know.
• The red Limit Break over a dark background is the Limit Pass.
• Those spherical synthesis materials I don't know.
• There's a "D" Glide that isn't anything. The Glide panels should have a red H, a blue +1, and a yellow R. The Air Slide's should have a blue +1 and a yellow R. The black Block should be an R, the white Block should be a P, the purple Block should be a J, the orange Block should be an O. So, we're missing quite a few.
• The robots, sparkles, bird and ! aren't anything. I feel like the $ is used on the rewards menu for obtained munny, but I'm not at all sure.
• I feel like the "P" should be something, but I'm not at all sure.

I've not heard of any panels removed during dubbing, so it seems like these were removed before release. The elemental ones look awesome, though, could we get them uploaded anyway?Glorious CHAOS! 04:16, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
