2.9 - The First Volume is the ending of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-. Like Blank Points, Signs of What's Next, and Another Guardian of Light, this cutscene utilizes in-game graphics and voice acting. It ends with the phrase "Reconnect. Kingdom Hearts," and it does not tease a future addition to the Kingdom Hearts series. Instead, it serves as a true ending and acts as a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III.
Synopsis
Having learned the role he unknowingly played in sealing Aqua's fate, Riku demands to know why King Mickey kept it secret. Yen Sid explains this was done to prevent Sora from attempting to rescue Aqua, and he reveals a safe means of entering the Realm of Darkness has been found.
