Design
The Dream Eater's name contains the Japanese words for "box" (箱 hako) and "monkey" (猿 saru). His appearance is based on a mandrill. Template:Section-stub
Strategy
Attacks
- Long Punch (ロングパンチ Rongu Panchi): The Hakozaru's hands form into boxing gloves, its arms stretching over a long distance to punch Sora.
Other appearances
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
The Hakozaru serves as a boss in Traverse Town, facing Sora and Riku in two separate forms. In the first visit to Traverse Town, Sora faces this boss after he confronts the Unknown on top of a skyscraper in the 4th District. The hooded figure summons this Dream Eater before vanishing. A floating, legless, long-range attack emphasizing version attacks Riku during his first visit to Traverse Town, but is defeated.
The Spellican summons the Hakozaru during Sora's first encounter with it in Traverse Town during his second visit, but is destroyed and replaced with the wingless Bullet Gargoyle.
