He should be a lot younger in this game. Remember, it is said that Zexion is the second youngest member in Organization XIII. Plus, I'm thinking he'll be a little too small to actually be a guard.

How Old will Ienzo be?

ok, so BbS is suposed to be 10 years before KH1 right?

we know that the events of the game will take place before the six aprentances banish ansem to the relm of nothingness.

i know Zexions age is never said, but to me personaly he seems about the ages of 16-19.

that would possably make him possably 6 to 9 years old in BbS, far too early for him to be a scientist.

chances are in BbS, Ienzo will be a child who dreams of becoming a scientist to serv under Ansem, wouch could make sence. and as a child he could carry around a book, a dictonary, to help him learn things quicker, to incresses his chances of becoming a student of ansem

Well, the problem with that is that this would be around the time he became a Nobody and STOPPED aging. So he should be around the same age, otherwise we can assume the others (who look to be in their early 20s by Days/CoM) would be teenagers in BbS, which they clearly aren't from the pics we've seen. Well also take into account, his Aprentase Xehanort has yet to make an appearance, all we know is that Braig, Dilin, Even, Lexeaus and Ienzo are suposed to appear in game, but no info on xehanort being in the game.

also take into account, their physical apearances. in KH2 Xigbar looks as old as Even, while in BBS Braig looks about the age of terra.

i think the events of BBS take place before Xehanort becomes Ansems aprentace; ergo before they dabbled in darkness and became nobodys.

but again this is all speculation on my part. Ienzo might very well be an aprentace of Ansems, while at the same time if eel he will be too young.

Ixbran, did you ever play KHII? Xehanort was in that. The event where he appears is not long before he and the other apprentices take on their Nobody forms. Xehanort doesn't seem to have aged since that event, which we can take to be about a year after BbS. We can assume that BbS will show us the reason behind Xehanort's amnesia, so we can assume this is the time he turns up in Radiant Garden, so the apprentices will not age much. Images of Xehanort haven't appeared for BbS yet have they (Xehanort, Ansem's Apprentice)? If they haven't, then we can assume that BbS revolves around his origins and lack of memory. If this is the case then it can't be more than a year or 2 before he and the other apprentices become the Organisation. If we consider the example of Sora from KH and his growth to KHII, which took less than a year, then we can assume growth rates in the KH universe are rather exaggerated. Aging

Just because we're kids doesn't mean we can't run a business— 13:39, November 29, 2009 (UTC) Here comes a little theory of mine: Since Dilan, Even and Aeleus don't seem to be any different from when they turn from humans into Nobodies, I think we can safely assume that Nobodies don't age! And since they don't change at all, it seems clear that they were the first to turn into give in to the Darkness. Now, both Braig and Ienzo change appearance. Braig grows some hair and gets some facial scars and an eye injury. Ienzo grows up a few years! From that, we can assume that Braig turned into a Nobody after Dilan, Even and Aeleus had done so, and I guess it was his "final battle" that caused his scars and facial injury. I think it was his battle with Terra, but who knows :P Now, Ienzo seems to be around Ven's age (or perhaps even younger!) when Ven and Aqua see him, so we can assume that some years passed before he became a nobody, as Zexion seems to be around 20 years old. So, we can assume that Ienzo didn't give in to the darkness as quickly as the others did. we can only wonder why... this is not a theory, really, but... it's something :P

As far as we know the Nobody doesn't have to look exactly like his human form (Sora = Roxas), maybe Ienzo phisical age as a Nobody is a reflection of his mental age as human. He is inteligent enough to be Ansen's aprendice right?

Like Adam pointed out, Ienzo is extremely young and extremely intelligent! so I find that "his nobody's appearance reflecting on his mental age" thing very plausible. But although Nobodies can change appearance (e.g. Sora→Roxas) they still to be around the same age... it just seems so weird to have a Nobody that is some years older than his somebody... Anyway, although BBS takes place 10 years prior to the events of KHI, Maleficent rules Radiant Garden for 9 years, so the apprentices have less than a year to "move out". That is really too little time for Ienzo to grow that old, don't you think? but those experiments that caused their Nobody-ness must have happened shortly after the events of BBS, or even During those events... Am I remembering wrong, or was the castle abandoned when Maleficent arrived? I mean, she didn't throw anyone out of there... she just came with her Heartless army and overtook the world and renamed it Hollow Bastion... On another subject, have you noticed how only Ienzo, Even and Xehanort seem to be scientific apprentices of Ansem the Wise? Braig, Dilan and Aeleus seem to be more like Ansem's "guardians"... and it looks like Braig is their leader... only they have been seen with weapons... I wonder why that is... and I also wonder why Ansem's "guardians" are considered apprentices...

If we say that the main storyline of BBS takes about a month or two, then I'd say that Xehanort has more than enough time to do some experiments with Ansem and the others, than betray him, and finally turning into a Heartless/Nobody. Then Maleficent showed up when they were all gone... or something like that.

Remember that it is 'about a year' before. We know from 358/2 Days that Sora was sleeping for less than a year, because all we had to go on was the 'about a year' thing. Well, maybe Maleficent took Radiant Garden less then 9 years ago, remember the people who said that were the same people who believed Xehanort was Ansem, also it is possible the heartless attacked Radiant Garden 9 years ago because of Xehanort and everybody assume it was Maleficent because she also uses heartless. The people who said that have never, anywhere, said that they believe Xehanort was Ansem. First off, they never actually encounter Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless) to tell Sora "Yep that's him", and they probably just assumed the Ansem Reports were written by Ansem the Wise. Impressionable?

Everyone knows that children are extremely impressionable, it's a documented fact. Does anyone think that due to Ienzo's young age, Xehanort may have led Ienzo down the wrong path, and by the time Ienzo learned the difference, it was too late for apprenticeshim to change who he had become?

If this is the case, it would mean that Ienzo has one of the more tragic fates of all. Led down the wrong path, led into betraying his stepfather, and then losing his heart, and any chances of repairing the damage done. Zexion-Ienzo- probably grew up without a heart, and thus has even fewer memories to draw off of.

Of course, growing up without a heart meant that while he knew he didn't have a heart, it was easier to form a personality, for him to feel pseudo emotions, and for him to learn to emulate the other apprentices. He also grew up unable to feel guilt, happiness, sadness, or anything that could have led him down the correct path. He didn't even have motivation, and had no desire to leave the organization or change his habits. As a result, Ienzo -Zexion- probably turned out the way he did because he was led astray as a child, and then lost the ability to be led back.

I don't think it was because of Xehanort that Ienzo became "bad". He looks a lot smarter than his age would imply in my opinion. I really don't think Ienzo/Zexion was really ment to be a tragic character in any way. Randomnessity Looks like you're already prepared.

Kana spelling

So, it's come to my attention that the kana of Ienzo's name has been updated from イエンツォ (Ientso) to イェンツォ (Yentso). Notice how the エ kana is smaller? Now, in this cutscene from BBS (around the 0:06 mark), the kana clearly reads the original version with the large エ. But in this video from 3D (around the 25:03 mark), the kana is comparatively smaller than the rest, especially since Even and Aeleus are mentioned, showing the normal-sized kana. Furthermore, these two Ultimania scans show the kana to be smaller. As such, I think we should include both kana versions in the article. Immblueversion (talk) 17:36, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Looking at the KHBbS version, the "e" looks smaller in the caption, and doesn't fully stretch to the top, although it's taller than the other half-size kana. The intention seems to have a small "e" there, especially based on the ultimania; it's also what makes sense from the pronunciation. If we need to mention that the BbS version could be read as having a large "e", then I feel it would be most accurate to do a ref note treating it as a typo."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." Ienzo was given a [[Gummiphone]] by [[Chip]] and [[Dale]], to allow them communication across the worlds. He joins in the first call to [[Sora]]'s Gummiphone. Seeing how confused Sora is to see him, Ienzo tells him that it's been some time since they met at [[Castle That Never Was|the castle]], mistakenly assuming like members of [[Organization XIII|the first Organization]] that Sora has [[Roxas]]'s memories. He tries to get [[Aeleus]] to talk to Sora as well, but fails. He explains that he, Aeleus and [[Dilan]] have returned to being students of the heart; when they cast off their [[heart]]s to become [[Nobodies]], they were being deceived by [[Xehanort]] and [[Xemnas]]. However, because he mentioned them, Sora jumps to the wrong conclusion that they are still bad guys; though Goofy quickly remembers [[Lea|Axel]] is their ally now, ending the hostility. Ienzo goes on to explain that Ansem's Code has revealed that Sora's heart doesn't belong to him alone; Sora explains that its likely due to Roxas's heart residing inside of it. Ienzo states the idea has merit as it was amazing enough Roxas could coexist with his original self; he informs Sora that they will use this hypothesis to further their research into Ansem's Code and ends his call. Shortly afterward, Ienzo gets an alert on the computer that says someone is trying to log on using a different computer. He gives Sora a call, learning about the lab [[Ansem the Wise]] has in [[Twilight Town]]. After helping [[Pence]] set up a link to his computer in [[Radiant Garden]], Ienzo begins working to collect the data on Roxas from the [[Virtual Twilight Town|other Twilight Town]] to begin reconstructing his heart.

[[King Mickey]] and [[Riku]] later visit him to ask about the possibility of using [[replica]]s as vessels for the hearts of Roxas and [[Namine]]. Ienzo explains that [[Even]] is the only one who would have in-depth knowledge of how to create replicas from his time as [[Vexen]]; however, he's vanished, with Aeleus and Dilan having no luck finding him. Any documents they have are from well before he made significant progress. Riku immediately guesses that the [[Real Organization XIII|new Organization]] may have taken him to use the replicas to fill out their ranks.

Ienzo later calls Sora, revealing the part of Ansem's Code that they've managed to decipher. Ansem the Wise had discovered that not only does Roxas's heart reside within Sora's heart, but two more hearts as well; having just met [[Vanitas]] at [[Monstropolis]], Sora knows one is [[Ventus]], but remains clueless about the identity of [[Xion|the third heart]].

Despite the progress in reconstructing Roxas's heart from the Twilight Town data, Ienzo is stumped on how to progress any further as without a vessel to place the data in, they are at a standstill. At that moment, [[Demyx]] arrives from a dark corridor, carrying something wrapped in a sheet. Ienzo is surprised to see his old comrade from the Organization, who informs him that he's on a top secret special mission; since Demyx is so far off everyone's radar, he can make a very special delivery. To Ienzo's shock, his master Ansem the Wise emerges from the dark corridor. Overwhelmed with emotion, Ienzo tells Ansem that the other apprentices withheld the truth about banishing him to the [[Realm of Darkness]] and instead told him that he had gone mad and abandoned them; since he was child, he believed them easily. He apologizes with all his heart, only to be comforted by Ansem, who tells him that so long as he recgonizes his mistake, they can move forward. Demyx interrupts them to reveal that Vexen had given him a blank replica for their use. 

Ienzo places Roxas's data inside the replica and sends it to the [[Keyblade Graveyard]] mere moments before Xemnas can attempt to kill Xion and Lea.
