Diversity is a huge thing on the ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wiki, and we like viewing other people's diverse opinions and styles on user pages, which truly are personal profiles for each user. However, there are limits to what is allowed on a user page.
*As of April 2009, and in accordance with the current [[KHWiki:Media Policy|media policy]], non-''Kingdom Hearts''-related images cannot be hosted on-site, even for userpages. They can definitely be used in your userpage, but these must be hosted elsewhere, like Imgur, and linked back here.

'''The ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wiki''' was founded on April 1<sup>st</sup>, 2006 by {{Keyhole|User:Riku5464|Riku5464}} as part of the Wikia community. Although he was not active for too long, his beginning edits and ideas laid the framework for the newborn database. There weren't many editors or articles in the beginning months of the Wiki’s existence, but eventually a group of users from the {{ff|Final Fantasy Wiki}} hopped over and began actively editing the site. The website started off very slowly with only a small group of editors actively working on the site, establishing rules,  writing articles, and doing all kinds of things. These editors worked hard and the site’s popularity grew, increasing both the encyclopedia’s content and userbase. These users started editing, each contributing to the Wikia in their own way. And so the Wiki grew, with each year bringing more users and information. The encyclopedia thrived. Like most wikis, it constantly faced issues and disagreements<ref>[[Forum:A dedication to everyone]]</ref><ref>[[Forum:Huge problems on the IRC]]</ref><ref>[[Forum:Criticism]]</ref>, but the encyclopedia continued to expand on all accounts.


The wiki grew uninhibited for many years, until Wikia began imposing features upon its communities. Although the community on the ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wiki repeatedly disabled these features, Wikia continued to implement changes that impacted the quality of the wiki's content. Your userpage is a space you can edit and show others who you are, your likes and dislikes, and so forth. Every registered user has a userpage, and there is a lot of liberty on what one can place on it. This guide will help you understand and hopefully inspire you on what you can add to your userpage, as well as warn about what cannot be placed on there. Note that not all the ideas on this page have to be there.

Limits on Userpage Content

Diversity is a huge thing on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, and we like viewing other people's diverse opinions and styles on user pages, which truly are personal profiles for each user. However, there are limits to what is allowed on a user page.

  • As of April 2009, and in accordance with the current media policy, non-Kingdom Hearts-related images cannot be hosted on-site, even for userpages. They can definitely be used in your userpage, but these must be hosted elsewhere, like Imgur, and linked back here.
  • Userpages cannot be used to house a personal website, journal, or blog. Consider for blog-related entries, or a different site where you can do that. Fanfiction is also not allowed on-site; consider using the Kingdom Hearts Fanon Wiki to write and host your fanon.
  • Userpages cannot be used to have prohibited content, such as content that violates copyright laws, is pornographic, includes excessive advertising, promotes illegal activities, or is hate speech or incites such hate.

On the right, you see a personal infobox. It is a quick and easy way for you to display the most essential information about yourself to other users. As you become more familiar with wiki markup, you may choose to make it more complicated, such as adding background colors, borders, and more.

Many people like to display all the different talk bubbles they've had during their time on the KHWiki in a sort of "display section" on their userpage.
