'''''Ineligible Categories''''': ''[[:Category:Items|Items]]'', ''[[:Category:Weapons|Weapons]]''<br>
{{DTN|time=01:08, 3 March 2011 (EST)|text=After a discussion with Kryten, we're really looking to feature [[Avatar Menu]] for April, if the community agrees. However, the article is missing a bit of info here and there:

*Confirmation of random avatar names.
**There are possibly 10+ more that we have not yet covered.
*Gallery of scratch card backgrounds and icons.
*General edits to the introductory lead text.
*Filling in/creating the Floor Code and Floor Challenge tables

Hope this helps! If the community has something else in mind, don't be hesitant to suggest it. Be sure to refer to the stats above! We've only had two featured articles of gameplay elements, so here's a potentially excellent third one.}}

{{Asif|shonormal=Actually, I was going to suggest "List of Avatar Parts", just because of how amazing it is that we managed to get all 900+ images, but that works too.  I can definitely tell that you're trying to make it worthy of being the Featured Article, just by the sheer amount of edits made on it in the past few days.  If we can just make it perfect, I definitely think we could use it for April's Featured Article.}}

{{The Inexistent|KRCCFNF='''Thirded.  <small>On a completely unrelated note, yes, it is missing Re:coded info, I'll work on that  EDIT 17:18, 4 March 2011 (EST) - Wait... what info is missing?  To my knowledge, it's attacks didn't change.  The kanji on the sword ''is'' translated, in the design section.  Also, so I may be able to fix it, what info is missing?  We have the artwork, and all of the stats are filled in.  And lastly, I thought that the FA should have some amount of text, as opposed to articles that are 90% images like treasure chest or 98.56% images like List of Avatar Parts...</small>'''}}

{{Darkheart3|time={{User:Darkheart3/Autosig}}22:06, 5 March 2011 (EST)|ansem=Well, as you can see, i'm probably going to be outvoted, but i'd like to nominate [[Tron]]. I feel he has qute a significant story in the Kingdom Hearts series (or at least KHII anyway). If it wasn't for him, Leon and others would probably never had remembered Hollow Bastion's real name:Radiant Garden.}}

{{LightRoxas|zero=As much as I like Tron, I'm gonna agree with Avatar Menu. I feel like a lot of people forgot about Re:Coded because of BBS earlier release and news about KH3D. Maybe this will remind some readers.}}

{{Asif|shosad=Sorry, LightRoxas, but you need at least 200 Mainspace edits before you can vote for a Featured Article.  Currently you have ten.}}

==March 2011==
'''''Ineligible Categories''''': ''[[:Category:Weapons|Weapons]]'', ''[[:Category:Worlds|Worlds]]''<br>
{{The Inexistent|sheath='''For the month of March, I nominate [[Invisible]].  Now, you may be saying, "T_I, why are you nominating your favorite article?"  Well, for one reason, only two Heartless enemies have ever been featured.  Second, this article is extremely complete, with all journal entries, a very complete design section, and even an image of its weapon.  In addition, this Heartless has appeared in several games.  And, finally, the Invisibles are more of an unusual type of Heartless, having a human- like build, weilding an actual weapon, and bearing writing on said weapon.'''}}

Raiden9000 - I nominate Cloud Strife's page. My reason for this is because there is only one Final Fantasy based character page that is featured so far and that is Leon. Cloud also has some good attacks when you fight him throughout the games and has a cool fight scene with Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2. Sorry if my nomination was meant to be in one of
those bubble things like the one above, but I don't know how to do those.

:Unfortunatly, this is ineligible, because: As per the rules above, you lack sufficient edits, and gave no real reason why the page itself is a polished article.  {{The Inexistentsig}} 21:43, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Raiden9000 - My bad. Stupid dyslexia...
I see now. 200 edits... Is that in this wiki alone or across all wikis?

I was going to nominate [[Silver Rock]], but Invisible is good, too. I'll just use SR for June >:3 --{{SilverCrono/Sig}} 21:52, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

@Raiden - No, it is unique to this wiki, but you should be sure to check the rules on other wikis, because no two are alike.  {{The Inexistentsig}} 21:02, February 4, 2011 (UTC)
:Plus FA still tiptoes on Staff jurisdiction. [[User:Maggosh|mag]][[User talk:Maggosh|gosh]] 21:17, February 4, 2011 (UTC)

Raiden9000 - Cool thanks. I'm going to go now. =D

{{LightRoxas|text=I'd like to nominate [[Mark of Mastery]], as it is of importance in the upcoming title KH3D. March is the launch month of the 3DS, so we can expect a lot more info on the game coming our way soon. The article itself is fairly polished and it would make a unique change of pace for FA.}}

As much as I love BBS, I'm gonna go with Invisible..it's nice for a change to see a Heartless after all these Nobodies/Unversed games. Anywho, I'm all for Invisible. However, isn't there supposed to be a strategy section on the page?--[[User:Xion4ever|<span style="color:black">''Xion''</span>]][[User talk:Xion4ever|<span style="color:darkred">''4''</span>]][[User:Xion4ever/Atelier|<span style="color:maroon">''ever''</span>]] 18:14, 11 February 2011 (EST)

{{Asif|sho=I would like to nominate [[Mickey Mouse]].  He is one of the most important characters in the series, and is a fan favorite (he placed third in the Keyblade War).  His article is also very polished and well written, with no additions or revisions listed at the top of the page.  There have also been only two Disney characters in Featured Articles, much like Heartless, so I think it's time we give Mickey the respect he deserves.}}

I'll second that{{User:Darkheart3/Autosig}}

2 things:

# @Xion - True, I'll just change the ability section to strategy, because that is what it's supposed to be, anyway.
# @Any staff member - The edit count rule is... well, two ineligible nominations have been made this month.  Your thoughts?

{{The Inexistentsig}} 08:50, 19 February 2011 (EST)

But I have 241 mainspace edits!  Don't you need 200 to suggest a page? {{User:As_if!/Autosig}} 11:41, 19 February 2011 (EST)

You're fine, As if, I was refering to LightRoxas and Raiden.  {{The Inexistentsig}} 14:44, 21 February 2011 (EST)

All right, since my nomination is ineligible, I'll just vote for Invisible too. {{User:LightRoxas/Sig}} 16:47, 23 February 2011 (EST)
:Just to clarify: everyone on here nominates/votes for [[Invisible]], yes? If not, speak now by shortly, and clearly nominating something else. DON'T RANT SAYING "Since it's ineligible/I don't really like it, but I'll go with it/etc." Peferct example sentence: "I do not nominate/vote for Invisible, instead I nominate <insert article with link here>."--[[User:Xion4ever|<span style="color:black">''Xion''</span>]][[User talk:Xion4ever|<span style="color:darkred">''4''</span>]][[User:Xion4ever/Atelier|<span style="color:maroon">''ever''</span>]] 18:53, 24 February 2011 (EST)
:Yes, I vote for Invisible. Wasn't really trying to rant. {{User:LightRoxas/Sig}} 15:00, 25 February 2011 (EST)

::'''''Verdict''''': [[Invisible]] is still missing several pieces of quality information--Re:coded info, translation of the kanji on the sword, and information from all the Ultimanias. Since no other article has recieved a significant amount of sceondary support to this article, we had an IRC conversation in #KHWiki-noticeboard, and decided upon [[Treasure Chest]], with a super special surprise image system to be coded by LegoAlchemist. --{{User:DoorToNothing/Sig}} 01:08, 3 March 2011 (EST)

==February 2011==
{{LightRoxas|tron=So, I've read the posts below, and it looks like this is now open to non-staff. If I'm correct, then I'd like to nominate [[Aqua]] for February. Here's why:
#She won the Keyblade War, which recently ended.
#She is mentioned in the Secret Ending of the recently released [[Kingdom Hearts Re:coded]].
#She appears in the also recently released [[Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix]].
These are just my ideas, and if this is all still staff only, then I apologize.}}

{{Chitalian8|time=17:39, January 20, 2011 (UTC)|squall= I'd say winning the Keyblade War would be a reason ''not'' to make her the featured article.}}

Two things: One, there needs to be something this month that isn't a character.  Second, isn't this supposed to be staff only?  {{The Inexistentsig}} 02:44, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

1) Then what about [[Ultima Weapon]]? It has appeared in several games, and we've only done one featured weapon.

2) It looks like they decided to make it open if you read the discussion below. {{User:LightRoxas/Sig}} 14:14, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
:As much as I like Aqua as a character, I favor Ultima Weapon. We haven't been focusing on weapons very much for Featured Articles or Media, so it's nice for a change.--[[User:Xion4ever|<span style="color:black">''Xion''</span>]][[User talk:Xion4ever|<span style="color:darkred">''4''</span>]][[User:Xion4ever/Atelier|<span style="color:maroon">''ever''</span>]] 17:30, January 22, 2011 (UTC)
::I agree, Ultima Weapon's a good idea. [[User:Maggosh|mag]][[User talk:Maggosh|gosh]] 17:44, January 22, 2011 (UTC)
:::I also agree, but would you all say the article is high-quality enough to be the Featured Article? It looks good to me, just wanted to make sure. {{User:Chitalian8/Sig}} 01:20, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
::::I personally am all for it, it's something new, something that's not overly cliche, sounds good to me--{{User:ShadowsTwilight/Sig}} 05:58, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

'''''Verdict: [[Ultima Weapon]] !'''''

==January 2011==
I nominate [[Land of Departure]] for the month of January. With the possibility of the Wiki leaving in the quickly approacing months of the future, I thought Land of Departure would be nice for it's title- departure. Think of this nomination for January as a farewell to this horrid Oasis, and a departure towards a better home. Also, once we do move, I nominate the remains of this Wiki to be Castle Oblivion. :P--[[User:Xion4ever|<span style="color:black">''Xion''</span>]][[User talk:Xion4ever|<span style="color:darkred">''4''</span>]][[User:Xion4ever/Atelier|<span style="color:maroon">''ever''</span>]] 19:09, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
:The problem with that is that articles should be nominated for excellence, not timing... but darn, this one is just too perfect to resist. If we could get a few staffers, and of course anyone else, to spruce this article up into an example of an ideal world article, I am all for it. --{{User:DoorToNothing/Sig}} 23:58, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
::I would be willing to assist. [[User:Maggosh|mag]][[User talk:Maggosh|gosh]] 00:25, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, we have a problem. Head down to the bottom of the page, it seems we agreed to allow this article of the month to be decided by voting. Two thoughts: 1) January could quite possibly be the last month that this wiki remains on the wiki before moving, so we ''could'' make the change back to voting in conjunction with our move. Actually, this might be a helpful transition. 2) We have already chosen an article that seems pretty up-to-snuff, we could also just make sure the general community is fine with it. --{{User:DoorToNothing/Sig}} 23:11, December 26, 2010 (UTC)
:I could really go either way, but considering it's our last month, I'd say open the polls. [[User:Maggosh|mag]][[User talk:Maggosh|gosh]] 00:14, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

{{Maggosh|nathan=As am I. Hmm...I think [[Removed content in the Kingdom Hearts series]] might make the cut.}}
:Well then, allow [another] staff member to appear. Terribly sorry for the late response, guys. Yes, this is only a staff thing (unless there's been a change made during my inactivity)...anywho, if you guys notice that the staff hasn't voted/selected a featured article for the next month, tell them! Kryten, Neumannz, Maggosh, ENX, and now, TNE are on numerous times of the week be it on here or on the IRC. Inactive staff such as myself, Kate, and the others do occasionally check in here once in a while. Regardless of when we appear or not, you guys can always ping us on our talkpage or on the IRC (heck, even the Facebook/Twitter pages would work) about it.

Onto the vote! == November 2010 ==
{{Maggosh|nathan=Well, seeing as nobody's made any suggestions for November, I'll put in my own nomination; [[Another side, Another story...]]. Now, taking DTN's concern last month into consideration - "not completely consistent with the format of our other [game] articles" - I took the initiative to ensure Another Side's article matches the format of our other secret ending articles; I'll admit there was some degree of difficulty as the article supports more than one of them. I do believe a secret ending hasn't been nominated before, so why not do something different? Thank you for your consideration.}}
{{ST|text=I like it}}

I second (Er, third.) that vote.--My Keyblade + Your face = pwnage 20:16, November 3, 2010 (UTC)Chihuahuaman

{{Maggosh|nathan=...guys, Featured Article is still under Staff jurisdiction.}}

I'm sorry, nobody told me that. Thanks for telling me before i got a warning.--My Keyblade + Your face = pwnage 00:13, November 5, 2010 (UTC)Chihuahuaman

== October 2010 ==
{{DTN|time=18:45, September 4, 2010 (UTC)|text=I see that [[Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep]] was chosen as the featured article. My commentary on this would be as follows:

'''<center><big><big><big> <big><big><big>BIG MISTAKE</big></big></big> </big></big></big></center>'''
The article is still very messy and is not completely consistent with the format of our other game articles. Also, whoever nominated and supported this seemed to forget that all Featured Articles should follow the manual of style, be written well, and not have any maintenance issues. You can see a missing <nowiki><ref></ref></nowiki> tag in the bottom of the page, was that not obvious enough?

But I digress. [[100 Acre Wood]] is the only quality article that comes to mind right now for October.
----
EDIT: This is not to be taken offensively, but just to remind all of the staffers that an article should be thoroughly inspected before being nominated, and not to just nominate an article because it fits into the time frame. Thanks!}}
{{EO|time=19:16, October 1, 2010 (UTC)|annoyed=The only reason you think [[100 Acre Wood]] is such a masterpiece is because YOU revised it, DTN. That's not a fair enough judgment/reason to nominate an article. ''Birth by Sleep'' was elected to sort of tie-in to the Wiki's theme and also encourage users to edit the article, as well as articles based on it with the new information the English adaptions revealed.

I'd say, in the spirit of Halloween being in October, the stereotypical thing to do would be nominate a Halloween-based article, so we at least acknowledge it in some way, even though switching to a temporary Halloween theme is completely pointless. So I'd like to nominate [[Halloween Town]], simply on the  grounds that it's based on the best stop-motion film of all time, has appeared in almost every game, has a great storyline, and makes the Heartless encountered there look totally awesome! Granted it could still use some work, that can all be changed in time.}}
{{Maggosh|YMX=I second ENX's notion.}}
{{DTN|time=02:32, October 2, 2010 (UTC)|text=In response, ENX, [[100 Acre Wood]] is in full accordance with our Manual of Style. An article should be "perfect" before it is posted on the main page, not after. Then it is no better than the Cleanup of the Month, and defeats the ''entire purpose'' of Feaured Article. You'll also notice that BebopKate approved of the article beforehand, complimenting its high quality.}}
{{BebopKate|time=03:33, October 2, 2010 (UTC)|text=I'm going to leave the Featured Article as is until we come to a consensus.

ENX, the point of a Featured Article is that it is already the best it can be or pretty close, not that it needs improvement or fits a theme.  If it needs improvement, it should be fixed before it is nominated.  If it's something to encourage improvement, then we have the Improvement section for those needs.

DTN, 100 Acre Wood is very good indeed, but it's hardly a consensus with one or two people.  We need more input here.

Given the direction of where this is going, I'm going to flat out say I'm not going to be the sole decision maker here.  I want to hear from other staff members.  We've got them and we need more input from them as well.  We'll delay the vote until Monday to make a final decision.}}

{{Chihuahuaman|time=22:35, October 2, 2010 (UTC)|text=What about [[Olympus Coliseum]]? It has appeared in every [[Kingdom Hearts]] game and it offers a challenge everytime.}}

{{Chihuahuaman|time=22:36, October 2, 2010 (UTC)|text=Oh, sorry. It is probably a mod only thing. My bad.}}
{{neumannz|time=02:10, October 3, 2010 (UTC)|text=I would like to nominate [[Blitz]], which over the past week, has been hammered into what I hope is a model technique article.}}
{{Bluer|07:37, October 3, 2010 (UTC)|Olympus Coliseum is missing information, and Blitz has a collection of redlinks. 100 Acre Wood is agreeable.}}

{{DTN|time=03:33, October 2, 2010 (UTC)|text=[[Gummi Ship]] was indeed the selection for August, my only issue was finding an appropriate image of reasonable quality. Hopefully we will receive blueprint images of the Gummi Ships soon.

It has been a while since we have featured a world article, I think the last one was Traverse Town. {{BebopKate|time=18:17, August 15, 2010 (UTC)|text=I think the Land of Dragons is the most complete of those suggested at this point.

Part of the problem with using the BBS worlds is that they're technically not finished until we get the release here, since I'm sure bits will change, and, as Xion mentioned, the spoiler issues.  Besides, Land of Dragons is a nice example of an article for a world that has so far appeared in a single game.}}
{{DTN|time=03:47, August 30, 2010 (UTC)|text=Hola, señors y señoritas. I have a bit of news for us that might change our plans. Even though we all know that Room Core should have been the Featured Media for September, it looks like we are going to be putting up some art of the Land of Departure. I'm still hoping that everyone spontaneously changes their vote to the much superior Room Core, but in the event that doesn't happen, we may want to reconsider putting Land of Departure up as the Featured Article. Personally, I'm not sure how good or non-rigged it would look to have our Featured Media and Featured Article correspond with each other. At the same time, it might be nice, since ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep'' is just around the corner. Hooray!

Anyway, I did a long, drastic cleanup of [[100 Acre Wood]] yesterday that should make it a model article. Plus, it's whimsical. If we find that we need to change our decision for Featured Article, I think this would be the way to go.

Hasta luego, ciao.}}
{{EO|time=20:56, September 1, 2010 (UTC)|text=Not sure what we've decided, but I think we should feature the actual BBS article. For two reasons:
*We've never featured a game article before
*Comes out September 7th, and many other obvious reasons

Not sure what verdict we've reached, but this is, to me, the best choice.}}
{{Maggosh|nathan=I also agree. Along with the Land of Departure featured media, I think it's the best choice for September.}}
{{BebopKate|time=23:06, September 1, 2010 (UTC)|text=I'm not keen on Land of Departure for two reasons:

#The game's not out yet here.  Stuff will change, the page will probably be slammed with edits after the English version is released.  It's in a bit of an unstable position to be called feature yet.
#It's awfully, um, small.  There's just not a lot of anything on it.  I know that it's one world in one game, so that does limit how big it can be, but...it just doesn't scream feature-worthy.  Yet.

Now 100 Acre Wood...good grief, DTN.  That's a thing of beauty.  That's how a good world article should look.  Granted, it's got multiple games to support it, but it's also well-organized, nicely annotated, and bursting with info.  I'm all about the Pooh.}}
{{Maggosh|nathan=Sorry, Kate, you seem to have misunderstood me. I said, '''along with''' the Land of Departure in Featured Media; I was agreeing with ENX on Birth by Sleep's article.}}
{{BebopKate|time=23:34, September 1, 2010 (UTC)|text=Ah yes, so you did.  Sorry, it's been a long day at work.

I would be fine with ''Birth by Sleep'' as a featured article.  I don't think there's quite as much to change there as there would be in something world or character related.}}

==Sub-Discussion: Back to General Voting?==
{{BebopKate|time=18:33, August 15, 2010 (UTC)|text=Well, we, as a wiki, like to vote.  The [[Kingdom Hearts Wiki:Mirage Arena|Mirage Arena]] is a great example of that, and I have to say [[Kingdom Hearts Wiki:Votes for Featured Media|Featured Media]] has exceeded everyone's expectations, methinks.

We've improved in quality overall since we stopped Featured Articles, and even more so since we've re-added them as staff only.  I think we have a lot more wiki members who know what quality means and are willing to help and polish something so it's at its best.
==Nominations==

Therefore, I would like to propose, in December, (for the January article, natch), we return Featured Articles to the hands of all the editors. I do think we should use the same system as Featured Media (restrained categories), as that has worked very well in producing a wide range of winners, and perhaps borrow and modify a couple of guidelines from FF Wiki's procedures, such as so many nominees before voting starts. If need be, we can re-tool things as we go along to make it work more smoothly, but I think this is a step we should take.

{{Xion4ever|time=18:58, October 5, 2010 (UTC)|text=Sorry for the late response, my life is crazier than usual...Anywho, I'm all for this idea. My main concerns are the usual: controversy which begets user bashing/arguments over a petty/trivial matter. Keep those contained (no scandals, excessive arguments) and I'm a happy person. Nice idea, Kate.}}

Featured articles can be nominated by any user as long as they pass all required quota in the rules section below.

So far, we have:

The rules for user nomination are as follows:

  • All voters must have 200 total edits (check here).
  • After a primary category of article has an article chosen to be the featured article, any other articles within this category cannot be nominated again for two months.
  • To accurately select an article that editors can review for detail to the very last word, phrasing, and format.
  • Articles can never be renominated after being chosen.
  • In the event of a tie, the former nominated article shall be featured first, and the latter nominated article shall be featured the following month. All voting restrictions for that month will roll over to the following month.
  • On the final day of the month, a staff member will close the voting, and voting for the next month shall begin.
  • Please provide reasoning as to why you think an article is fit to be featured--remember, by featuring an article, you are presenting an article that represents the best work of its category. Whatever is nominated should be a model article for others that are similar to it.
    • Also try to provide variety in your nomination--our goal is to balance out the "demographic" of articles above, not add more character articles.
