Breakdown of 10th anniversary celebrations!

Special Edition of the Twilight Times: We’re releasing an issue based on our history and experiences on the wikis. We’ll post a link as soon as it becomes available. IRC Celebration: We’re having a large gathering of KH fans join us here for a day of reminiscing and overall Kingdom Hearts shinanigans. All are welcome to join! The KHWiki-verse will turn 10 years old next year! That’s right, we’ve been around for almost 10 years. The Wiki was founded on April 1st, 2006, so our tenth anniversary is April 1st, 2016. So, we should celebrate! So, this forum will be host to the many ideas that we may have. If it works out, we could probably do more than just one!

Ideas

/KHWV/ sings "Simple and Clean"

The idea would be to mock something like /a/ sings. /a/ Sings is a reddit board that comes together and sings anime openings every so often. Example! (ignore the first 20 seconds) So, I thought we could get a few people to come together and sing Simple and Clean. You don't have to be good, this is supposed to be a thing where everyone sucks at singing so we all come together and embarrass ourselves as a team! Chainoffire 05:07, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Time Travel to the Past!

This was brought up by KSM right before he left. "The only idea I was thinking we should/could have is to rehash our old themes (backgrounds) with our old logos, but the logos sporting a nice 10th Anniversary banner. I wouldn't mind doing that. It's not very visually appealing, but I suppose that's the point- to show what it was in 2006 and how much we've improved since. Since the wiki's birthday is April 1st, would the anniversary celebrations be happening on that week or for Jan 1st? TheFifteenthMember 10:13, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

KHWikiverse: A history

Inspired by this, I've been wanting our own KHWiki:History page for a long time and what better incentive to write one than our 10th anniversary? This will require digging into ancient edit history especially for the first few years, but the few really old users can help out. Perhaps we could. I'm not sure how active Bluerfn, Ultima the High Seraph and the lot will be, but it'll be nice to hear from them again. I can piece bit by bit from 2008 to 2011, and this year. There are some usernames I can draw. However, it would be advisable to contact them on the Keyhole, rather than here (because chances are, they wouldn't have signed up). Timeline of the KHWiki

Similar to the KH timeline, we could make a timeline of the wiki with the important events (like moving to KHWiki or the founding of the KHWikiverse), game releases (to see what happened when) and, the most important, the join dates of the current users. I like this a lot. Would we only have the join dates of current users? I think it's important to recognise retired ones too. The problem is deciding which users deserve a mention and which don't. TheFifteenthMember 11:27, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Themed magazine issue

It's been decided that #Issue 7 will be themed on the 10th anniversary and will incorporate the history, timeline, art collab and /KHWV/ sings ideas mentioned above as well as other ideas. Check out the Journalist Spot! TheFifteenthMember 19:55, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

IRC party!

A bit of a delayed announcement, but Aixon has brought up another idea for the celebrations- an IRC party! Basically, we want our channel as boisterous and active as possible for the 1st of April so spread the word across all editors, active and inactive alike, and try to spend as long as you can on the IRC this Friday! Depends. I think the /a/ and art collab could be featured in a special 10th anniversary celebration page fourteen in the magazine set to release in April 1st (our birthday). The logo/skin/main page could be retro for that week. TheFifteenthMember 16:27, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

I think we should use the entire month. It's easy to miss out on everything if you have a busy week, while everyone should be able to come online sometime during the month. TheSilentHero 11:15, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

I agree with the whole month for the main page. Would we want to change the Monobook skin background as well? Or would that be too much work? Chainoffire 22:52, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

The only reason why I wouldn't want it to be the whole month is the main page doesn't look as good as our own, but we only turn ten once so let's just do it. When are we planning on doing these projects? After January? TheFifteenthMember 20:02, 8 September 2015 (UTC)

My thoughts on time frames: /KHWV/ sings - video gets posted on April 1st, so I'd want everyone's audio by at least March. Maybe the art piece could be the cover for April's issue of the magazine? I think we agreed on keeping the celebrations for one month, which I find too short to change the wiki skin entirely. Maybe just a different logo, with 10th anniversary on it, or something? TheSilentHero 18:16, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

An editor pointed out that we should probably take the 10th anniversary main page decorations down now. I know we agreed on a month but with KHUX's English release, we're probably receiving a lot of traffic right now, hence why it's more important now than ever that our main page is in top form.
