A blazing crystal: the rarest of the blazing materials

Energy is a type of material that appears in Kingdom Hearts II and is used in Item Synthesis. Only obtained through drops, energy materials are one of the "modifier" materials that are not required to make items, but offer benefits when added in. They are used to cut the number of materials required in a recipe in half, rounded up. For example, if a recipe requires four Dense Shards, using an Energy material will only use two. If it requires three, it cannot split the third shard in half and therefore rounds it to two whole shards.

Although not officially part of the recipe, an Energy Crystal is required to make Ultima Weapon as the recipe calls for 13 Orichalcum+, but only seven of them exist in the game.

Energy materials are assigned purple, a color that is shared with the Mythril materials.

The Energy materials are known as the "Swelling" materials in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts II.
