ANX219 Or when I'm by the sea... When I look at the water, and hear the waves lapping against the shore... it's almost like I can hear another voice. — 19:59, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
2YTDwh4.png God, titles so lazy. So I've been snooping around the Category:Articles in need of expansion and noticed there's a large need of improving articles revolving around the Dream Eaters--lacking designs, forgotten variations and recipe sections. Let's do something about these crumbly pages!

Goals:

  • Dream Eaters: to have an organized layout on each page of Dream Eater, complete with a quality design section and all recipes.
  • Design is to be separated into sections: A basic overview that does not change depending on disposition (like figure and such), Spirit design, Nightmare design (includes Rares by using <br> ), and Etymology or "Behind the Name".
  • Materials- have all materials added to List of Synthesis Materials, and each page to have treasure chest locations, completed "makes these spirits" list, rewards, and objects that drop the materials.
  • Material pages are missing which spirits the materials can create, what drops the material, which treasure chests it can be located in, and how to receive it as an award.
  • All- correctly categorized pages, possibly/including the creation of Category:Dream Pieces, as many pages are linked to it.

Enemies

Helpful Links:
Aura Lion - Our Model page, whose layout and page links are perfected, as all pages should look like.
Template:DreamEaterDirectory - list of all Dream Eaters
Dream Eater#List of Dream Eaters - shows different forms and which Rare forms exist (is there a rare form for every one?)
Category:Spirit Dream Eater and Category:Nightmare Dream Eater - categories that should be added if not already
Forum:Notes_32,_(KH3D,_Dream_Eater_skills)_-_Neumannz - spirit abilities and attacks
User_talk:MateusinhoEX/Ability_Link_Draft - ability link board format
[1] - list of abilities on link board, dispositions, ability quick list, recipes, link descriptions
"Spirit Data" - link board format
Task 1: Improve Design - clean up/add design, add different sections for the dispositions and etymology
  • Chart on what needs to be improved (so people can edit what they are good at/what they wish to edit) is a work in progress
Task 2: Add Missing Stats - noticed on Queen Buzzerfly, anyone who can find a strategy guide or play through the game can help add!
  • Spirit Abilities (viewed/unlocked from Link Board)
  • Spirit Abilities in Flick Rush
  • Spirit Attacks (Done in Battle, viewed in stats screen)
  • Dispositions (they change which attacks spirits can use)
Task 3: Fix Infobox glitch - there seem to be bugs in some with errors popping up, this occurs on the 358/2 Days Missions Infoboxes as well.
Task 4: Get rid of broken links - mainly links like "Meow Wow Recipe" on Meow Wow, which should be linked to Recipe#Kingdom_Hearts_3D:_Dream_Drop_Distance instead
Task 5: Add Categories! - Check the helpful links for the main ones!

Materials

Helpful Links:
Template:synthesis - list of the all synthesis pieces
Forum_talk:Notes_07,_(KH3D,_Dream_Eaters)_-_Neumannz - box info on pieces
Talk:Recipe#Draft - format of the infobox we're going for on Recipe-- Preferably without images, so it fits like the other boxes
[2] - Recipe lists in Japanese, clarifies which rank the recipes obtained from the story are (like Meow Wow Rank E talking to Neku)

:Task 1: Create Category:Dream Pieces - to go under

Task 2: Complete created 3D section on the Recipe page Also List of Synthesis Materials - taking information from multiple pages (requiring multiple tabs open is needed for this) as well as an Ultimania or strategy guide.
Task 3/Bonus Points: Add nihongos to Recipe page for all games as a bonus :)

Discussion[edit]

I'm completely useless in this project; however, I noticed you mentioned there's a problem with the template. I could help with that, I just need to know what the problem is. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 20:46, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

I should have noted which page I saw it on. I will search as I work. yAgIogp.pngANX219 21:16, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

This should be easier than Inappropriate Capitalization. RikutheBloody 23:49, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Even on Aura Lion, we are missing information on dispositions, Ability Links, and Dream Eater skills. Thanks to Shard, I've got the Ultimania scans for the last of those, but that's all. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 05:10, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
I think I found where the Template:Enemy fails. Is the problem the fact that if you put anything other than a number in the stats, it causes a "Unexpected operator" error to appear? Because I (after a little research) found that someone had brought it up in reference to Xion. If that's the issue, I'm on it. If not...I don't know what to do... Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 19:34, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
@KSM: I believe there were red links on the box that weren't actually links but just red text I couldn't change. I couldn't find where to put the info anyway. (Infoboxes confusing OP.)
@Nez: Awesome! Shard is really amazing in finding the ultimania scans ;; yAgIogp.pngANX219 21:07, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
So it's not this? (Click on "Stats"). Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.pngKeybladeSpyMaster Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png 21:43, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
Pretty sure it was that. Sorry for my lack in informative explanation. xD yAgIogp.pngANX219 23:09, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
So, I pretty much want to help with this, since I helped formatting and adding info for both the Dream Eaters and Dream Pieces pages. Basically, I have to finish some of the Dream Eater stats and some of the bosses (those are kinda trick). Shard provided me lot of Ultimania pictures showing the enemy and bosses stat pages. I will work translating them and adding info on strategies. I also have a clear save file with at least one of each spirit created, which means that I can start a new game and get info on almost every Ability Link Board from the start. How to translate and change the stats from percentages can be found on my user talk page. I changed from computer lately, so I have to check upmy backup files and find them. I will do it as soon as possible. I also have scans of the dream pieces pages. For last, I also have this Ability Link Board template as a work in progress and also the Link Portals one, that is almost (if not) complete and can also be already seen in use in the Symphony of Sorcery page. Any opinion or help with these templates would be greatly appreciated! - MateusinhoEX 15:11, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Amazing! Feel free to add it to the goals list, if you feel it should be a part of this project (in which it should) or I can add stuff for you! That's pretty awesome. Thanks for the help! yAgIogp.pngANX219 21:27, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

I have finished creating a list of Spirit abilities based on the Ultimania scans. I now have a question: I remember at one point seeing in someone's YouTube footage that it's possible to see the repertoire of the Spirits in your party in some status screen or on the bottom screen or something. Is that true? If so, can we get some English names? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:35, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

That is true, however I believe skills change according to disposition so that's more research that's needed. TheFifteenthMember 21:40, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Where you pet them, and also the stuff you can give them. Unless IGN is not a reliable source. yAgIogp.pngANX219 02:03, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
You can see the Spirit's abilities by going to the Stats screen, and press A while viewing a Spirit. Or something like that... TheSilentHero 06:23, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

The disposition only brings new abilities. It changes nothing else. And like the silent hero said, when changing your party, highlight a dream eater, and press the X to view all of the highlighted dream eaters abilities, even if not learned. Disposition is just for new abilities. RikutheBloody 11:44, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

So, in other words, yes, we can start getting names? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 12:41, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

@RtB: You are referring to the abilities Sora/Riku can learn through the Link Board. Neumannz wants to know about the Spirit's own attacks. @Neumannz: I'm looking at the game now. When you're in the Stats menu, go to one of your Spirits and touch the touch screen to see their attacks. The attacks also have a small icon to show what element it is. And the dispositions change the attacks. TheSilentHero 14:32, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Okay. In that case, if anyone wants to start listing the ones they can see there on this page, that would be awesome. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 18:18, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
I just found out that the attacks you listed are from Flick Rush. You can see them by going to the Flick Rush arena, selecting a cup, change your party, and then press X. TheSilentHero 10:03, 13 September 2014 (UTC) EDIT: Ok, the attacks seem to be a combination of normal attacks and Flick Rush. For example, the Aura Lion only has Claw Combo and Faith in Flick Rush, and Dive Warp and Spark in normal battles.
Figured it out for real this time. Claw Combo is divided in Right Claw and Left Claw for normal battles and my Aura Lion wasn't in a high enough level to know Faith. I tried to translate the table with Aura Lion's attacks, but I can only read katakana. TheSilentHero 12:09, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
I don't know how to add what you guys are talking about, it seems to me there are attacks AND abilites that are special to each DE, and also special abilites that are unlocked for Sora from the Link Board. There's also a thing Nez mentioned called "repertoire" that I don't understand (small dictionary in my head). Can you give me examples of each of those and also disposition? What should I add to the list? yAgIogp.pngANX219 18:44, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

Attacks are the combat moves that DEs do in battle (e.g. Cure, Shell, Aura Lunge etc.). A Spirit's move list can be viewed in the Stats screen and those are what we need to add to the list. Also, Spirits have a different set of attacks in Flick Rush from their normal battle ones. Note that the disposition changes the Spirit's move list (for example, Aura Lion can use Aura Dive in the Lionheart disposition while they can't in Noble). The only abilities I know of are the special abilities unlocked from the Link Board. In this instance, a "repertoire" is the list of moves/attacks that the Spirit has access to. Hope that clears it up. TheFifteenthMember 22:55, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

Personally, I found this guide really useful. TheSilentHero 17:50, 21 September 2014 (UTC)

I can do the design pretty well. I just remodel the colors if that's good. RikutheBloody 00:12, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

So, how should the page of a Dream Eater look (with Link Board and stuff)? I made an example here.

I like it although the dispositions in the enemy template are superfluous now. Either that part should be reworked so it looks like the section you made or removed. --ShardofTruth 21:25, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Well done! ^_^ Ditto about what Nezzy said--the red on the Attacks is kinda bright, but the rest look gorgeous! Me and Fifteen did Link Attacks and Styles in a colored-coded table on google docs, so I might be get that up and running soon as well. (Maybe requiring some assistance with the coding)

GanondorfIcon%28SSBU%29.png
TheSilentHero — 13:47, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
I decided to get rid of the color in the tables, and give everything one color, so it looks less messy. I also added the dispositions to the infobox. Also, I think this draft is ready to be moved to "Template:AbilityLink" or something like that.

Looks pretty good, but you're going to need to have the disposition colors somewhere, since they're used in the ability link board. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:36, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

The guide that Silent Hero found provides to be useful. It makes it easier to list the abilities. RikutheBloody 15:43, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

TheSilentHero That's not how I do things. — 18:47, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Managed to add the colors to the infobox, though I think it isn't really necessary, since there are references that say which disposition unlocks them.

TheFifteenthMember Yes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way. TheFifteenthMember 19:11, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
I agree, MEX's template could be moved to a real page. Points on the draft:
  • The Dispositions are too cramped in the infobox. I'd cut them out from there entirely and create a full "Dispositions" section to have some breathing space.
  • The page needs to be more Nightmare-friendly. Since Dream Eaters are also treated as an enemy, they need the standard "Strategy" section under "Abilities".
  • Maybe the "Attacks" and "Flick Rush" sections can be merged since they're on the same subject? The tables can be tabbed into "Nightmare" attacks, "Spirit" attacks and "Flick Rush" attacks (unless the Nightmares have the same attacks as Spirits, in which case the tab can be labelled "Battle"). That'd save a section.
  • Also, we should remove the "Image" row of the Flick Rush attacks since we don't even have the card images yet and the cards will go on the respective attack pages, anyway.

Other than that, the draft is great.

ShardofTruth Once you believe, truth and lie are quite the same thing. — 21:48, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png I disagree about the infobox, it's there to collect most of the different pieces of information so the page doesn't get crammed with too many tables and lists.
ALBOKQS.png
TheFifteenthMember Ignoring how these caterpillars uttered what they're trying to say, I do agree. TheFifteenthMember 18:14, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
In that case, the infobox still requires information on which dispositions are obtained from eating which treats.

IkeIcon%28SSB4-U%29.png
TheSilentHero Prepare yourself! — 19:01, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
I changed the infobox so it looks less cramped and added a strategy section (someone else needs to write it, though). I personally think there is no need to merge the Attacks and Flick Rush tables. As for the infobox needing information about the treats, the treats activate a certain color disposition.
  • Confetti Candy activates purple
  • Ice Dream Cone activates yellow
  • Shield Cookie activates blue
  • Block-It Chocolate activates green

Since the colors are already in the infobox, I think a note on the item pages would do.

Merging the Attacks and Flick Rush tables depends on whether Nightmares and Spirits have different skillsets. If they do, there's no point having three different sections for plain "Attacks". Does anyone know what attacks Nightmares use? Also, the new infobox looks good. Thanks for clearing up how the treats work. TheFifteenthMember 19:43, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

I've always seen them use the same attacks as my Dream Eaters when I played it. They never used anything different. RikutheBloody 20:35, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

TheSilentHero Prepare yourself! — 11:51, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
I asked Ultima Spark to check the Ultimania for the Nightmare attacks, and he says they're the same as the Spirit attacks.

Alright, thanks for the info. I believe the format is complete and ready to be used now? TheFifteenthMember 12:03, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I believe so. The Ability Link template still needs to be moved, though. TheSilentHero 12:06, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

So, yeah, I have a little time in this vacation, then I remembered of this Project and I am very happy that you guys are using the template for Ability Links I made :) At this point, you guys must have been already noticed coding is one of the things I love XD Anyway, here are some points to help finish this:
  • I will see if I can get the rest of the Nightmare stats until the end of this month, but I will need some help with checking every world in which each Dream Eater appears, since they are not all listed in the Ultimania. There's an etc. after two worlds if a Nightmare appear in more than that, and The Rare Nightmares from the Portals are listed only in the world of their respective portals, the worlds in which they appear in Portals of other Dream Eaters not being shown.
  • Another thing I need a big help with, which I really think I will have to leave up to you guys in the end, is translating the Dream Pieces information. Shard have provided me scans of the pages, which also contain information about the Dream Eater Treats and Paint Guns. Some things are kinda easy to understand (that's why some material pages, such as Savage, already have information) and this forum page can help. There Neummanz helped me identify what each section of information of each Piece is related to, for example, where they tell about locations, rewards, created spirits, Dream Eaters which drop them, where they drop them, and all of that.here are the scans. (Take a look at the Highlights.jpg image, each area is in a color).
  • Last, we need to finish gathering info on the Link Portals, including Friendship, Battle and Special ones. Most Special Portals are already listed, I wrote one by one when I played trough the game. Basically, we need to check all the rewards for them and which is the Forecast Description for each Dream Eater. Here you can find what info on Secret Portals we already have and some examples on Battle and Friendship Portals. Here is the info in where are the Friendship Portals and some of the Battle Portals, and Here are what Spirits appear on them (go down the page).

Thanks for the help guys! Really feel like this Project is going to be finished soon :)

There are also a lot of Design sections that need to be expanded and almost all Dream Eaters still need a Strategy section.

We also need to make articles for all Dream Eater attacks.

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png Tremendous work, especially by you SilentHero. The Dream Eaters and Nightmares are by far the enemies with the most complex templates here and now their stats are (mostly) finished. Cheers all around :D
