"The" Keyblade

I think that adding "Keyblade" after the weapon name is superficial, and that the definite article isn't needed. Isn't the simplest, most concise way of wording these sentences be in the manner of "Oathkeeper has ____ as an equipment ability" and "Guardian Soul has ____ as an equipment ability". This makes sense because the Keyblade names are considered proper nouns, so they do not use articles (in the same why, you wouldn't use a person's name and say "the" or "a" before it). Thoughts? I am in full agreement with you. The problem is, it's already so widespread across the Wiki in the form of the weapon articles. I personally prefer saying "Make sure you equip the Ultima Weapon" instead of "Make sure you equip Ultima Weapon," but I, too, do think that the definite article should be dropped, at least in most cases. I am tempted to use the Heartless/Nobody/Unversed/Dream Eater articles to counter your argument, but that is a whole new kettle of worms. - Eternal Nothingness XIII 13:20, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

I'd say there are two instances: weapon names that are entirely a name or proper noun (e.g. Oblivion) and weapon names that consist of an adjective and noun. With the former, it's natural to use without the article because it's like using a person's name ("Oblivion has..." and "John has...). The latter should have a definite article because that's what you'd use in natural speech (e.g. the Ultima Weapon, the Guardian Soul etc.). I'd say we should use whatever sounds more natural in each case, rather than having one consistent rule. TheFifteenthMember 13:32, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Well, what I can confirm is we cannot be saying the Oblivion, the Oathkeeper, or the Fenrir. Please, none of that. To be honest, it's a minor issue so I don't think it's worth going on a massive spree to change all of them. But it's just those three that are completely wrong. Something just sounds wrong about leaving "the" off of Oathkeeper, especially because it's a title, like "Guardian". "The" just sounds more natural to me. also, the fact that pretty much none of the weapons in the series are singular entities -- they're all forms of a weapon, and are often forms shared between wielders. I'm not familiar enough with the rules for definite articles to point to which bylaw it's violating, but it just sounds...wrong."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." I personally agree with both of you. At times, the direct article is not needed. But there are certainly plenty of times where it is needed, too, even if a certain weapon fits the category of "direct article not needed." Some are quite good and humorous! Speaking of those, though, I think the Vanitas Remnant and Dustflier need new enemy userboxes, because they are identical to the ones we use for their respective accomplishment ones...The issue is that the descriptions stick out like a sore thumb compared to the other enemy user boxes; we go from "This user has a shocking personality" (Yellow Opera) to "This user has beaten the Vanitas Remnant!"...

About Updating/Improving Userboxes

We'd need TSH's help to move those templates to new ones, and then keep User Dusflier and User Vanitas Remnant as.... well, "This user is ______________". When was the last time any one of us felt anything? — 13:56, 18 May 2015 (UTC) I don't think there'd be an issue with having two userboxes fro the Dustflier and Vanitas Remnant, one for the accomplishments section on the main userbox page and one for the enemies sub-page. The current userboxes are intended to say "I beat this!", while all the enemy userboxes are meant to say "I like this!". That's my logic for why new userboxes are needed. As for descriptions, look to the enemies' Journal entires. These usually contain the good/witty descriptions you're looking for! :)

A lot of them do (and I'll admit, a lot of the Unversed ones come from the Reports ^_^) -- but sometimes we've just got to improvise. I haven't played 358 on a DS yet, and until then, I won't be able to relate to a lot of the 358 Heartless unless I try and compare them to their other counterparts... I'm as good as new! They're kinda redundant to the Trophies, no? I love the userboxes you two are turning out and feel the other ones on the Wiki (those not made by TNE or TSH on the main userbox page and in all sub-categories) are inferior-looking, thus they should be replaced or removed, if redundant...Thoughts?

I will have to be sure and remember that. — 02:10, 19 May 2015 (UTC) There's just a painfully obvious difference in quality between the new userboxes you and TSH have been making vs. the ones we've had since, like, 2009 :P The old ones need to be fixed/updated. It's fine that the accomplishment ones are meant to illustrate the pre-HD versions of games, but why not use better images than the sloppy ones we currently are? Basically, I think we should renovate all the boxes so they're on-par with the quote and enemy ones you guys have been making. I can't necessarily make templates for very long without getting frustrated (I just got a new job entering data for someone at my church for three hours a day everyday, and it's tedious as heck), but I'd be happy to give you context for pieces, TNE. I know KH like the back of my hand at this point, with the exception of KHX, of course.

My fiancé, Seán, understands your pain. Having been a sacristan and filling in data for hours on end, writing bulletins, and trying to keep a crazy priest on a leash, yeah, we can understand the tedium. Don't worry about the template-making, either I or TSH should be able to handle them. As for what goes into the template, I'd be glad for you to give me contexts etc. Also, I don't want to go through the pain of a Google Search for KH images gone wrong, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to suffer that same thing *hint hint nudge nudge wink wink*. I would keep the old userboxes, even if they're not as awesome as the new ones, because there are already too many red links to userboxes (mostly on pages of users who don't visit the wiki anymore). The weapon userboxes are a good idea, although they would look better if they had an original quote, instead of "This user is a proud wielder of ____" Also, I talked to Porple and he increased the template limit by 50%! He did say we should split pages if they ever get as big as that, though. Maybe we should get people to put these new userboxes on their page. I think we're the only three who use them now...

I've actually got a good mind to remaking at least *some* of the Character userboxes, in the vein of the Enemies ones, just so that we won't have red links but we can actually spruce it up a little, ya get my drift? As for the weapon userboxes, I wonder if a part of the Keyblade description might be useful. By the way, lovely to hear about the template limit expansion. Excellent that the template size was expanded after I created a separate page for userboxes :P

I wasn't a part of Project:Music, but I do have a good grasp on when songs play in each KH game.

As for renovating old templates, it's just a matter of consistency, something I try to push for in all areas of the Wiki. I think we could make all the userboxes (save for ones like "This user is male" and "This user's native language is English") look a little better since, compared to the new ones, they're an eyesore to me. We could always have a "userbox archive" of sorts to display past versions of the templates...Here's what I mean: this is the present version of the KH1 clear accomplishment userbox...

This user defeated Ansem and started the epic story of Kingdom Hearts.

Basically it's the accomplishments userboxes on the main userbox page that I feel need updating. As far as the weapons userboxes, that was just a model/example description. I'm not saying we have to use it. Something from the in-game descriptions would be just fine. But we shouldn't be implying that a user is a weapon, as we do with the enemy userboxes. I feel like the character/music userboxes made by TNE, as far as updates go, such as Riku's userbox and the "Hikari -PlanitB Remix-" userbox, look just fine. You've put your thoughts down really well; I think I'd go with just about the same myself: Any userboxes with pixellated images get changed, and if there's more than one image on a Character / Form / Quote, we can basically pull off the Userbox Q. Video game userboxes go in the style of KSM's. Minigame userboxes just need a slight colour update. There may be minigame Qs which may probably deserve a section to themselves (and is probably more fringe, if you ask me) but I've thought of actual direct quotes from those involved in Struggle, so there's the premise behind it. The weapons ones can be a bit tricky. Of course don't say "this user is X weapon", although we might jazz it up in some cases. Take Space Paranoids for instance: I've taken a very Command Prompt-like theme to it. Skill and Crossbones may be done in the way Jack Sparrow speaks (though with his pirate drawl, I'm not sure how he'd say it). XD But you see what I mean. Most of them don't need to be jazzed up per se, but I think, where it's due, we could try it. Am I missing anything else? (Also, thanks for editing that User Goofy thing today; today is very important to Seán and me and we were out for quote a while. Kingdom of Corona misunderstanding

Hi I just noticed that their is some misunderstanding here on the edit that was reverted, all I was doing was adding in Tangled (2010), since many of the films have the "title" with "(the year of the film's release)" after, I'm very confused since personally I don't see it as repetitive and going against the articles.--98.198.217.176 04:30, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
