Tetsuya Nomura stated that Roxas's ability to use two Keyblades implies that Sora can use Synch Blade without the Drive Forms, due to the fact that Sora has every ability that Roxas has. This is proven when Sora takes Riku's [[Way to the Dawn]] during Xemnas's final battle with them. While handling Way to the Dawn and his Keyblade, Sora does not handle the Keyblades like Roxas or his other Forms do, Way to the Dawn is held upside down and his Keyblade is held normally, he also has many attacks that he uses that he has not used before in any Form including Standard Form. It is also shown in the Xemnas battle that when using the beam of light that acts as an attack and is used to open any [[Gate]] or lock that when Sora does it with Synch Blade he still uses only one Keyblade to do it.

Roxas uses Synch Blade in his battle against Axel in Kingdom Hearts II.

Synch Blade (シンクロブレード Shinkuro Burēdo?, lit. "Synchro Blade") is an ability that appears in Kingdom Hearts II. It allows the user to summon a second Keyblade during battle. So far, the only characters to use this are Roxas, who can use this ability to wield his twin Keyblades Oathkeeper & Oblivion, and Sora while in Valor Form, Master Form, and Final Form as well as Double Form.

Story[edit]

Kingdom Hearts II[edit]

Roxas can use two Keyblades at once because he has both Sora and Ventus's Keyblades, due to Ventus's heart remaining within him when Sora became a Heartless.[1] Originally, he can only wield Sora's Keyblade, but when Xion is defeated, he reawakens the ability to use Ventus's Keyblade.[2] After Sora and Roxas reunite, Sora is able to use Synch Blade within Valor, Master, and Final Form, but since Sora possesses every ability that Roxas had,[3][?] it is theoretically possible for Sora to use Synch Blade naturally, without going into a Drive Form.[citation needed]

While Synch Blade is not an ability outright, Double Form allows Sora to wield two Keyblades. Roxas also continues to wield Oathkeeper & Oblivion as a party member in the Keyblade Graveyard.

Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind[edit]

While Synch Blade is not an ability outright, Roxas wields Oathkeeper & Oblivion as both a party member and a playable character in the Keyblade Graveyard.
