I've been looking at the old site and...it looks more cleaned up than this one. It also has more users. So now, I must ask; Would we have been better off if there never was a move?

Check Recent Changes. We've got more mainspace edits, which is really all that matters. --Ag (Silver) - 47 107.8682 amu ~Crono Vsymbol1.png 16:27, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

We don't have to use Oasis anymore, and readers don't have to see Oasis when they read. Yeah, as Crono hinted on, we've got the harder workers at this wiki, while the rest stayed at wikia. We no longer have wikia staff breathing down our necks either, which is definitely a plus. I have no idea where you got "more cleaned up" from. Chitalian8 16:43, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

I meant some of our pages are kinda blank and they have more that are finished. My best example Is battle missions. P.S. If something I put down on the forum it's because I'm on my iPod instead of computer.

Wikia's editors are also very disorganized, look at their recent forums. Many of their edits are to the user talk space, and plus, our version of Battle Missions will be superior to theirs. Chitalian8 18:21, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

I just need to say this; Hell no. User:Erry/Sig4 19:09, 6 May 2011 (EDT)

Interdiction KHD.png The Mission articles didn't magically become blank because we moved. If they're incomplete, that means we hadn't finished them while we were a part of Wikia. A Wiki is virtually never "finished"; there's always going to be edits and changes and improvements to pages, whether we're on Wikia or not. And of course there's a different number of editors; we're seperate Wikis now. We don't have the same number of editors as the Zelda or Bleach Wikis either, but the number of editors doesn't matter, since the quality of the edits are good.

Basically, the flaws you've attributed to the move are actually just typical things to find on a Wiki. They have nothing to do with our split from Wikia.

I response to your points:

  • A page with less content is definitly not a bad thing. Most of the "new content" on the Wikia wiki is speculation, which is bad.
  • True, Wikia is hauling in a large majority of the new users, but that doesn't matter. If you check this, at the very bottom, you will notice that we have at least 50 users that have made a total of 600 edits have editted here since the site was set up.
  • No. In no possible way was it a bad idea. The problem with Wikia wasn't really about Oasis. While that was a big part of it, it was more about the fact that Wikia wouldn't listen to its users, the ones who made its bloody content. They constantly forced inappropriatly crappy updates on us, and we had enough.

Vsymbol.png Christ, bro. It's a little late to be starting a move complaint forum.

TALK - Oh wait, this isn't a camera... - {{{time}}}
Let's see...less vandals, less troublemakers, less problematic edits, no more host that doesn't listen to our RAGE complaints *coughwikiacough*, new (TOTALLY AWESOME) skins, and more awesome and neat articles.

The only problem I see with the move is Chitalian and Ninja kinda lost their main job because of it, but that shouldn't be a huge problem for both of them, right? So I say the move was a wonderful thing to do. Besides, whenever I stalk visit the old wikia I see a bunch of problematic edits that I want to revert badly.

AlVan, I have a good comparison of our wiki to theirs:

Aero.

Wait, no.

Sorry, that's not a good example. Even though our version has more content, it's still incomplete.

I wonder why that is.

678FMS.png 17m and The Inexistent are right. We're better than ever, the wiki is now free, and we won't have to worry about being ignored or being forced to use something that everyone hates. The Wikia staff are simply a bunch of selfish, snooty and money-hungry crooks. They won't delete inactive wikis, they ignore all complaints, plus they even try to buy other wikis.

As if! Oh. Hi. — "So. How are you holding up? BECAUSE I'M A POTATO."

[clap clap clap]

@Kryten: OUCH! Sure it is true (and maybe a little funny too), but let's try to stay on topic here.

Although we did sever our community in two, I'd say it was a good decision. We no longer have Wikia's staff breathing over our shoulder (okay, that sounds creepy, but you get the idea). Now that the old wiki has become more lax on the rules, all the editors who only talked on peoples talkpages and created forums (which is BAD) have left and this one has become more focused on creating a quality encyclopedia. Not to mention the lack of trolls and incompetent users.

Yeah, moving was basically the equivalent of putting the Mainspace in one wiki and the forums in another. I say it was a good idea.

Interdiction KHD.png Dial it down, Uxie. Yes, Wikia was being dickish toward the end and that's a major reason we left, but "snooty" and "money-hungry crook"? Hyperbole just makes arguments look childish. The Wikia staff are not the hellspawn people seem to think they are, they were just being stubborn and condescending. They have no obligation to delete a Wiki just because we left it. It doesn't matter anymore anyway, since we've already moved. Game over.

Actually, I think she was refering to wikis that were created years ago, have about two articles, and no editors. That, on the other hand, is extremely immoral, as those wikis have next to no viewers, and yet Wikia keeps them alive for the sake of the ads displayed there. KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON. 11:59, 7 May 2011 (EDT)

That's what I meant. But I did hear that they deleated some wikis that were bullying users or because they were wikis created by people to get revenge on admins who banned them. But other than that, they will refuse to delete an inactive wiki. UxieLover1994 12:36, 7 May 2011 (EDT)

Keyblade-Blk.png Nothing I can say on this point wouldn't be an echo of something that was already said. To be brief, the move was absolutely not a bad idea; we are free of Wikia now (see above for further justification) and so forth.

Also, KrytenKoro. Stop being so hilariously terrible, I'm going to pop a lung here.

There's no vandals because you've basically lost all your affiliates (except a few deserted subwikias and two youtube channels). The FF Wikia also refuses to become an affiliate, which is a major failure unfortunately. 213.0.89.54 10:25, 8 May 2011 (EDT)
