Talk:Armored Ventus Nightmare

— Why did Xehanort and co. word things as if to try and wake Ventus who is inside Sora?

Nomura: They did so in order to tempt Sora’s heart and have it fall to the darkness. In the story it also talks about how abandoning the self leads to losing the heart. When you see Vanitas (the dark half of Ventus who appeared in KHBBS) overlay Young Xehanort for a moment, that represents Ventus’ heart reacting inside Sora.

This implies that Nightmare Armor Ventus is Vanitas.

Oh yes, because Vanitas's heart was the one who wears Ventus's armor, right? And he fights like Ventus? Hmm, sounds like Vanitas to me. </sarcasm> Erry 12:27, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
That was a huge jump of logic you just did. That was entirely about that one scene where Vanitas appeared and nothing to do with the armor or NAV. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 22:35, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Well it appears that Vanitas is the darkness in Ventus' and by extension Sora's heart and since the Nightmare Armor is Sora succumbing to the darkness, it is effectivley Sora controlled by Vanitas.--124.150.58.146 12:39, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
So now Vanitas is a Dream Eater? Erry 12:53, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Especially considering the fact that Darkness takes the form of a Dream Eater, it still wouldn't be Vanitas, since Vanitas is a heart of pure Darkness, not just Darkness itself, as like Heartless, who ARE Darkness. Erry 14:01, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Umm...[edit]

Maggosh has deleted my edit about the battle music for Armored Ventus Nightmare. Why??? Frost Crystal KHII.pngParadiseFusion15 20:10, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Well for one it's not trivia and rather than mention it on this page, mention it on Destati. Erry 00:19, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Which it already has been. maggosh 00:20, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Well then I rest my case. Erry 00:26, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Shotlock[edit]

Does anyone actually know what this thing does? I've recently started tanking that part of the fight to find out, but it gets so crazy that it's hard to figure out what's going on before I'm dead. Here's what I've worked out so far: The attack can't actually kill you, no matter how many rushes you take, you will still be left with 1 HP. But that might also be from Second Chance/Last Chance/whatever they call it. I'm also not positive, but I THINK it locks your commands somehow & then returns you to normal gameplay. Don't know exactly, because I end up dying quickly, on account of only having 1 HP. I'll keep screwing around with this, but it'd also be great if anyone knows more about it. I'll try to think up something to type in strategy, but I usually just hit it until it stops moving.75.195.51.168 10:08, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Have you tried going at it without Once More/Second Chance equipped? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 20:40, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, I finished KH3D yesterday and I did died with that attack. I haven't gotten Once More yet, but I was with Second Chance, then, Once More is what mantained you alive. Well, you can really call it Shotlock, since after when with 1 HP left, Armored Ventus Nightmare launches a series of Lock-On markers on Riku, which kinda uses a Link Style, don't know, I know it gets a bright aura around him. Then, Commands get locked and Attack changes to Nightmare Clash. I think that the idea here is like in Xemnas battle in KHII, when he fires a lot of bullets at Sora and Riku. You have to press A as quick as you can to hit the Nightmare and don't get hit. - MateusinhoEX 13:18, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
Well, that answers that question. Once you succeed, he'll be stunned for a while. Unlike with Vanitas, it is impossible to miss with the Finish command. I tried using it locked off, facing the other direction, & double-jumped into the air, Riku will always zoom in & perform the attack. However, if you wait too long, the Nightmare will regain consciousness, that HP bar will refill, & it will do the Shotlock-like thing again. The only thing I'm still not completely sure of yet is what exactly happens if you fail, but are left alive. I know you don't go out of the Link Style-like state, which is why your commands are locked. I do not know if it is possible to win like this. Edit: Oh, put some stuff in "strategy," but didn't make it visible because I wasn't quite sure it was up to snuff.75.206.168.196 21:36, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
As I said in the summary of my most recent edit, I'm confident in the strategies I recommend, but I don't have a source for the attacks. I have no idea how I survived the "Shotlock" that one time, as I haven't been able to replicate it since.75.195.56.3 01:17, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

The World That Never Was ?[edit]

By seeing the infobox, I saw that the Nightmare is fought in The World That Never Was, but is it not supposed to be in Sora's Dive into the Heart of something like that ? 82.239.198.82 04:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Move to Ventus's page[edit]

Why is the Armored Ventus Nightmare a sub-section of Sora's page instead of Ventus's? If its name weren't enough, the journal entry makes it pretty clear that this is a version of Ventus, not Sora ("The armored form of someone who wished to protect Sora"). It would make more sense to move it to Ventus's suite.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Aid1043 (talkcontribs)

Isn't Sora inside the armor, though? TheSilentHero 08:15, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, Sora's the one wearing the armor. It also uses Sora's Keyblade (or a corrupted version of it at least.) However, it fights like Ventus. And based off the journal entry and what is communicated within the game it seems like it's some version of Ventus surrounding Sora to protect him. It seems like Sora is not in control at all while Ventus is both on autopilot and corrupted. - Joseph Thorn Dalton XCVSymbol Character - Vanitas.png 11:33, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
