== Shibuya ==
Since Shibuya is starting to become more of its own thing then simply a real world location setting for an in-game world, should Shibuya have its own page?

Revision as of 06:55, 27 January 2020

Please confirm:

  • Enchanted Dominion: France?
  • Castle of Dreams: France?
  • Dwarf Woodlands: France?
  • Neverland: London
  • Stitch: Hawaii?
  • Alice: England?
  • Deep Jungle: Africa?
  • Agrabah: Middle East/Persia/etc.?
  • Atlantica: Atlantic Ocean?
  • Pride Lands: Africa?
  • The Grid: Wherever the Flynns are from?
  • Prankster's Paradise: Atlantic Ocean/some part of Europe?

Basically, can we do a script dive for these?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:09, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

From what I remember:

  • Castle of Dreams - England
  • Enchanted Dominion - England
  • Dwarf Woodlands - Germany
  • Neverland - London
  • Stitch - Original world would be Hawaii, but otherwise outer space.
  • Alice - England
  • Deep Jungle - Africa
  • Agrabah - Middle East/India (Kind of like a fusion of the two, really.)
  • Atlantica - Atlantic Ocean
  • Pride Lands - Africa
  • The Grid - United States of America
  • Prankster's Paradise - Germany too.

Do we have quotes for those (even if they are FL, like calling Germany "Deutschland")? I can try to do some script diving this weekend, but it's gonna be a lot of hit and miss what with all the various terms we could be looking for, and the fact that sometimes these are just battlecries ("For China!")."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:29, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

CoD, ED, and DW are questionable at best. Setting aside fairy tale origins, there are no references to real locations. Stitch's story ends with him crashing on Earth, so Hawaii is plausible (what's visible on the surface of the planet?). Agrabah should be Persia or similar, but I don't remember a specific reference in-game. I don't even know what to think about Atlantica. But one more candidate for France, Beast's Castle. (LCdC and CotM are definite references to France.) --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 00:54, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Also, Prankster's Paradise would be Italy. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 01:08, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
What I'm trying to get at is less where the movies are set, and more where they are set within the Kingdom Hearts games."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 03:40, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

678MS.png I can regonize some of these places. Mind if I use a talk bubble? It'll make things a little easier for me if I do.
  • Never Land = Well, they did go to London, UK. The Big Ben (soon to be called the Elizabeth Tower according to AdelaideNow) is where the Keyhole was.
  • Land of Dragons = The Palace is actually the Forbidden City.
  • Port Royal = Well, there was once a city called Port Royal, but it was destroyed by earthquakes long ago. Due to the popularity of the Pirates of the Carribean films, they are planning on making that old harbor a tourist attraction.
  • La Cité des Cloches = Notre Dame. That's in Paris, France

As for the remaining worlds in the series, I have no idea on the exact location of each setting; though I DO know what island Stitch lands on (Kauai), I have no idea what town he would live in.

I apologize, everyone, if I made it unclear. This is not supposed to be a list of the "real-world places the movies seem to be set", or even "real world locations that are recognizable in the games". This is supposed to purely be a list of real-world locations that have been EXPLICITLY called out in the KH franchise. What I posted above was simply a list of possible leads, not a definite, workable list.192.249.47.177 12:04, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Olympus Coliseum is in Greece as Phil says to Aqua that all of Greece is talking of Terra. TheFifteenthMember 12:25, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Quotes
  • Olympus Coliseum: Aqua: Oh no, you see, I just want to track him down. / Phil: Yeah, tell me about it, sister. You and the rest of Greece!
  • Land of Dragons: Emperor: ...You deceived your commanding officer, shamed the entire Chinese army, and dishonored your family name... Take this, so the world will know what it is you have done for China... If you wish to win the heart of Fa Mulan, China's bravest woman, you'll have to be a bit more eloquent than that!
    • Mulan: (during Red Rocket) For China!
  • Neku: See you in Shibuya.
Aside from these, I only know of references to landmarks (e.g. Mont St Michel, Notre Dame, Port Royal, Big Ben).
Someone else will have to see if there are any references in story journal entries. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:50, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
For Neverland, taken from Kingdom Hearts: (At Clock Tower, before sealing Neverland Keyhole, after defeating Captain Hook) Wendy: "Thanks to Big Ben, all of London can see the time. However, one of the hands seems" messed up.--Xion4ever 04:18, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Agrabah

It's obviously set in Arabia/Middle East with the turbans, "sultans" and what-not. In the Cave of Wonders, there are also walls with Arabic writing on it. Is this evidence strong enough to say it's set in Arabia? TheFifteenthMember 16:44, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Split

Do we really need this article? Isn't it enough to split the information and mention them on the appropriate world articles? TheFifteenthMember 16:28, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

I don't think we do. I like your idea better, but Shibuya is one of the locations listed, isn't it? The world never appeared in the game, so why would that go?--NinjaSheik 21:43, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Good point. It was only mentioned in Traverse Town so perhaps a brief link to Wikipedia under its story section? TheFifteenthMember 21:45, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I like that. I can work. :) But what does everyone else think?--NinjaSheik 21:51, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
Unless we get a bunch of more real-world places in KHIII, I think we should split this, it's too small for it's own article. As for the Shibuya thing, it could probably go under Traverse Town's story section. Chainoffire (talk) 04:49, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

More Evidence

In CoM, Wendy's journal report states "A dreamy English girl..." so that's more evidence for Big Ben being in England. TheFifteenthMember 16:45, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Aztecs

Port Royal mentions the Aztecs and Cortez."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:30, 19 October 2018 (UTC)

Earth

Hercules' BBS journal says he's lived "down on earth as a mortal"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:07, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

English

"Tarzan spoke only the language of the apes until he met Jane. Since then he's learning to speak English at an astonishing rate.""We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:17, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
