Reversal is a technique that appears in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. It allows the user to quickly slide behind an enemy just before it attacks.
Mechanics
In Kingdom Hearts II, Reversal is a Reaction Command that allows Roxas and Sora to slide behind specific enemies. When successfully executed against Dusks, the Dusk Roxas/Sora slid behind, as well as nearby Dusks and Creepers, is confused, allowing Roxas/Sora to attack. When against bosses, Reversal instead allows Roxas and Sora to evade projectiles.
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Reversal is a movement command exclusive to Ventus that has a maximum level of 1. By pressing 
just before a targeted enemy strikes, Ventus slides behind the enemy. Equipping Reversal allows Ventus to equip the reprisal command Reversal Slash.
