Does Shan-Yu become a Heartless? Cause he kinda glows a purpley glow when you fight him. Is it possible that he could've been around his Heartless army and somthing happened and he became a Heartless? Mcoolister

He can't because he doesn't have the emblem. XienZo 16:35, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

heartless dont have to have emblems, as stated in the ansem reports. the emblem is just the sign that recognizes manufactured heartless from regular heartless. if the heartless was duplicated by maleficent's machine then it will have the emblem. but if someone just loses their heart to the heartless, then the heartless that someone becomes will not have an emblem. Shadow heartless don't have an emblem, but you'll have to be stupid if you thought it wasn't a heartless. Myself 123 17:29, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Well remember what happened to Scar, he became a heartles (As Pete clearly states) and he looks exactly the same but has the same purple glow that Shan Yu gets. So yeah it looks like he does become one but its never clearly stated.

TALK - Where's the fun in this?
I think he was just opening his heart to darkness but not fully a Heartless. The same thing happened to Maleficent just before the final fight with her in the first KH game but she doesn't turn into a Heartless. Honestly I just have to say Shan-Yu was harnessing the powers of darkness rather than turning into a Heartless.

Trivia Section[edit]

Other Emblem.png In the trivia section, it says that Shan Yu is one of five villains who's use of the heartless has nothing to do with Maleficent. There are several things wrong with this statement. First off, it says "five villain" but only lists four. And secondly, it lists Chernabog as one of those villains and Chernabog did NOT use the Heartless. Just thought I'd give you the heads up that I'm going to re-write it so that the number and villains are correct.

Ansem (card).pngThe trivia says that Barbossa and Shan-Yu are the only Disney bosses in Kingdom Hearts II not to use The Encounter as battle music. If my memory serves me right, the Hydra didn't use it either. Is that right?

You're right. The Hydra did not use The Encounter, and the same goes for Shan-Yu, Barbossa, Pete, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, Lock, Shock and Barrel and maybe even more. That's why I think that Trivia bit should be removed.

It think it should just be clarified. Barbossa and Shan-Yu were the only two MAIN antagonists of their respective disney worlds not to use the encounter. It was also used with Cerberus and that battle with the Fianl Fantasy characters after Goofy's alleged death. (That's probably my favourite piece of battle music.) TALK - The Darkness in men's hearts, drawn to these cursed medallions; and this Heartless, a veritable maelstrom of avarice: I wonder, are they worthy to serve Organization XIII? - Lying Memories 13:53, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
So I'm replaying KH2 right now, and just last night out of curiosity I looked at Shan-Yu to see if he had completely transformed from the darkness. Well he had, as I saw that in the scene where he says "Now you'll bow to me!" he had pointy ears and yellow/orange eyes. In my opinion, this strengthens the idea that he became a Heartless too.

TheFifteenthMember Yes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way.
Well, the quotes page only has five with three battle quotes so really he only has two.

Hayabusa[edit]

Should we split this from Shan-Yu and add it into the minor characters list? TheFifteenthMember 19:49, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

I guess that would be okay. What role did Hayabusa even had in the game again? Didn't he just fly around and stuff?--NinjaSheik 04:36, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Why do we need a minor characters list? We're not at a premium for space here.
As for splitting, everything Hayabusa does has to do with Shan-Yu. Splitting it would make the information harder to find."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 04:47, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
OK, so every character shown can get their own page? Where do characters exclusive to the manga stand (Figaro, Wind and Lava Titan etc.)?The minor character list will still be useful for characters only mentioned or implied (Mulan's father, Sora's mother, Zeus etc.) TheFifteenthMember 18:33, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
No, every character shown is not getting their own page. Ninja said she thinks it's okay. Kryten is saying why would we need a minor character list? There has been no decision here. I'm a bit mixed on a minor character page. Shouldn't their mention on the respective article's page be enough? They don't play a too important role in the game- hence the name "minor" character. I'm against it if the article's creation has us split character articles, as it was first suggested. There's no need to do that. I'll mention more on the list of minor character's talkpage. As for the manga characters, I've finished up to Vol. 4 of the Kingdom Hearts manga. Characters such as Figaro, Cleo, Titans, etc. can be mentioned on the respective Volumne and episode they appear in- be it on the gallery with a subcaption, or write it in somewhere in the synopsis.--Xion4ever 20:11, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
No, I am saying we should have articles for each of them. We don't have to pay extra for new pages or anything, and unless it's something like Shan-Yu and Hayabusa where they are virtually one character in two bodies, keeping them merged hides where the info would be."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 02:15, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
I support the idea of every character getting their own page but should we give manga characters full pages too? I like the idea of manga characters getting more info. Secondly, should we just mention and redirect implied/mentioned characters under the world's character section? TheFifteenthMember 16:13, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
