The Trancheuse is a set of Knives that can be wielded by Larxene in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It is Larxene's basic weapon, and therefore requires no Gears to be attached in order to wield it.

Design[edit]

A Trancheuse Knife is vaguely triangular in shape with concave edges on one side of the blade and handle. The middle of the other side of the Knife has a circular cut taken out of it. The Trancheuse knives are entirely grey, symbolizing that it is the most basic of all of Larxene's weapons through the use of achromatic colors.

Trancheuse is French for "Slicer", while its Japanese name, Tranchant, is French for "Sharp Edge".

Gameplay[edit]

The Trancheuse Knives are a relatively aerial-based weapon. Larxene's ground combo beings with two identical attacks, in which Larxene will make two slashes with her Knives close to the ground. After both of these attacks, Larxene will be offered a Y-Combo; in this special attack, Larxene leaps into the air and throws four Trancheuse Knives to the ground. If the Y-Combo is not taken during the ground combo, the combo finisher is a sweep of the close ground around Larxene, in which she does a complete 360° spin on the ground. The aerial combo begins with a simple Knife slash, after which Larxene is offered the same Y-Combo as in the ground combo. If this is not taken, Larxene's second attack will be a double slash with both of her Knives in opposite directions, after which she will be offered the same Y-Combo again. If this is still not taken, Larxene ends the combo by performing a few flips in the air with her Knives, then quickly striking down to the ground.
