Issues: This article needs to be rewritten to organize by status effect, not game.

"Invincibility"[edit]

The way the article handles invincibility is incongruous with the way it's usually handled as a status effect (ex., the "War Hero"-inflicted status in FF8). Invincibility does not include "can't be interrupted" nor "never takes damage" - it has to be something that can be put on and off, and has to be something passive during normal play. Only the Hercules and Barrier Master bits qualify. So, I'm taking all the non-status ones out.Glorious CHAOS! 12:00, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

I went through and cleaned up the current information on the effects. Whoever initially added the information just took it from the Brady Games guide, but for some reason tried changing the information, but only made it a little confusing. I added a tiny piece of information about the Anti-Status abilities and I rearranged the effects in the order of the corresponding Organization XIII members. Positive effects[edit]

What distinction do we make between positive statuses and passive abilities? (E.g. Invincibility, Part II[edit]

FA icon.png Now I know some Heartless have times where just randomly hitting them doesn't do any damage. The Mad Bumper and Hot Rod, for example. I don't think that counts as invincibility because technically, you just need to find their weak spots or do an attack that they're weak to.

But I remember talking about the Armoured Xemnas battles being scripted in KHIIFM, and him having a good minute's worth of frames of invincibility because of how the battles were programmed. Would that count as an Invincibility status, or just outright shoddy programming?

Unchained[edit]

Not real clear yet on what these do, since I don't have them on my own medals, but I've seen:

  • Poison
  • Paralyze
  • Sleep

From in-game help:

The following sword/shield icons represent status effects. These status effects temporarily change the STR/DEF of the Medals in your Keyblade based on their attributes. These effects have 3 tiers, and the tier number will be displayed on the icon.

The other icons represent status ailments.

   Increased strength
   Decreased strength
   Increased defense
   Decreased defense
   Poisoned. Damage taken during every turn.
   Sleeping and cannot move until effect wears off. Sleeping enemies will wake up if attacked.
   Paralyzed and sometimes rendered immobile.

Lower HP in KHIII Re Mind[edit]

As I'm sure many of you know, three of the new bosses in Re Mind have attacks that lower your maximum HP. It does seem to be treated like a status effect since your HP goes back to normal after a short while, and using an item like an Elixer restores it immediately. What name should it be given? And should it be included in this page (under the negative section of course)? Come to think of it, one of the cheats in Re:Coded did this too. Lord Fawful (talk) 23:29, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

There's plenty of conventions to go with if we lack one. You can always resort to Kingdom Hearts's big brother Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy XII has a debuff called "Disease", although it's gradual. Final Fantasy XIII-2's "Wounded" mechanic is probably the one most on-point since it functions virtually the same way. Or you can simply try and describe the debuff with the simplest wording, "Max HP Reduction."--Samoa Joe (talk) 17:25, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
We shouldn't be using a name from a Final Fantasy status with similar effect. I think "Max HP Reduction" would work as a placeholder until we get an official name. TheSilentHero 17:31, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
