The Empiricism is a Shield available to Vexen in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to the Empiricism+.

Design[edit]

Empiricism has a circular shape with wide, curved protrusions on each of its sides, a pentagonal spike on its top, and a longer pentagonal spike at the bottom. The two spikes and the two side protrusions are white, and there is a white octagon in the middle of the shield, surrounded two curved, orange shapes on the sides. All of these colored sections are separated by black borders, and the edges of the shield are black too.

Empiricism is a thought system in which knowledge and information arises from a person's sensory experience. It is an important component of the scientific method, in which hypotheses must be tested against and explain observable phenomena.

Gameplay[edit]

Empiricism's ground combo begins with a sharp jab forward, followed by an identical jab forward, and finished when Vexen raises the shield behind him and hurls it forward.

Its aerial combo begins as a simple thrust upward, and finishes when Vexen poises the shield above him, then strikes it down underneath him.
