The Edification is a Shield that can be wielded by Vexen in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to the Edification+.

Design[edit]

Edification's main apparatus is shaped like a cross with a wide, pentagonal spike on the bottom arm. There are three more wide spikes on the other three arms, the ones sporting flat tips. The top spike is connected to the side ones small, angular pieces of metal that are grey on the outer edges and indigo on the inner ones. The edges of the upper three spikes are grey, while the spikes themselves are indigo. The bottom spike is white, and its edges are indigo. Most of the main shield is the same white color as the bottom spike, with the exception of an elongated symbol in the center. The symbol is shaped like a long spike with concave side edges. It is pink with an indigo outline.

Edification is intellectual, moral, or spiritual improvement.

Gameplay[edit]

Upon movement, Edification leaves a pinkish-blue aura behind. On the first attack, Vexen simply turns it 90° to the left, and thrusts. Vexen then throws Edification up a few feet in front of him at a 45° and then pulls it back. The attack is the same as the first, but on the fourth he shoots in front of him for a half-second then pulls it back. The aerial combo is exactly the same as Scrutiny. Pressing Y after the first attack will result in the aerial combo.
