A Master Qualification Exam is an event for Terra and Aqua in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Master Eraqus describes it as "a test of the heart for those who have been chosen by the Keyblade." According to Tetsuya Nomura, apprentices of Keyblade Masters can take the exam to become Keyblade Masters themselves. If they pass the test, they have two choices: they can either take over the land and take on apprentices, as Master Eraqus did, or strike out on your own, as Master Xehanort did. If one who passed chooses to strike out on their own, there are lots of different paths they can take.

Terra and Aqua have both been shown to take the Master Qualification Exam in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, with their judge being their own master, Master Eraqus. However, it is known that Ventus will not take it, becuase he will not be as skilled as his two fellow apprentices yet.
