Goofy is a dog. The reason is because Disney animators had such trouble drawing human characters, that Disney said "Draw a human-like animal" so they could practice. I got that straight out of the mouth of a Disney cast member. - EternalNothingnessXIII 15:52, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Ahh that question's been around for so long... Also, why doesn't he have a last name? Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy. Everyday, I take a 2 hour nap from one o' clock to four o' clock 13:34, 30 June 2011 (EDT)

His last name is officially "Goof," but we don't use it here because it was never stated in the games, similar to how we use "Cloud" and not "Cloud Strife." RoxasNobody
