He's an anthropomorphic dog, as opposed to Pluto, who's a normal dog for some reason.--LapisScarab

The only normal looking animals are those of the pride lands, Zero and Pluto. If you can think of any others I would like to know. Unregistered contributor--222.155.89.163
- Goofy is a dog. The reason is because Disney animators had such trouble drawing human characters, that Disney said "Draw a human-like animal" so they could practice. I got that straight out of the mouth of a Disney cast member. - EternalNothingnessXIII 15:52, May 30, 2010 (UTC)
